World Game Cup 2013 in Cannes, France is taking place this weekend and as usual, is looking to be a huge event for Soul Calibur in Europe. Players from a number of countries in and outside of Europe will be in attendance, making for a very interesting and unique event.
This is one of those rare moments when I wish I was good at photoshopping, because I would definitely have Ezio holding some Chef Boyardee or something. Alas, it was not to be.
Regardless, we're back with a new episode! I know you're excited. I love you, too. As does my guest, The_Jimbonator. You may know him, and he's got some knowledge bombs to drop on you. Show him some love! Enjoy!
After about a month of inactivity SCTier is finally back to provide the community with some pre-tournament coverage. This time we have the Northeast major, Winter Brawl with the veteran kAb as our guest. In the context of the current competitive scene this event can seem like a warm up, or a precursor to the upcoming Final Round. On the interviewer side of things there is Partisan, Jimbonator, and that one nameless desperado.
SCTier is currently getting back into gear and has things such as post-tournament coverage and other non-podcast...
By now, you should be seeing that the "Upcoming Events" block on the right side of this page is a bit different. Previously, the block would display upcoming scheduled streams; now this block works more as it's namesake and simply displays upcoming events, whether they have a stream or not.
In fact, it should be "not", since the streaming system built into the event calendar has been completely wiped out, and put out to pasture. In it's place, I have just unveiled a system built specifically around streaming, which is far more powerful and easier to maintain; easier for the moderation staff here, and at the same time, easier for you streamers out there. Continue after the break to learn more[...]
Some of you may have noticed over the past few weeks I've been making a lot of changes to our wiki software. In case you don't know, the wiki software on this website is built in-house, completely by me. Doing this has permitted me to add features to the wiki specific to our type of community, while shaving off all the bloat we see in most other wiki software.
Hello everyone, I am here today to let you know about a new plan to get people fired up about everyone's favorite fighting game, Soul Calibur. Tomahawk came up with the idea to try and get a scheduled online session/meeting on Global Colosseo. A lot of the servers aren't being used so we can basically fill them with all our players and have decent online session. This should be great for meeting/playing new people and getting everyone's skill level as a whole to a higher level.
So you have found 8WAYRUN.com, and you are starting to like the people, conversations, and atmosphere of the place. You’ve maybe heard of tournament players or have already considered the idea of entering a tournament, but the idea of traveling anywhere farther than a few hours can be a scary prospect.
In this article we’ll demystify traveling and reveal some options what will make getting to the big leagues a lot easier. Learn to travel[...]
It’s time for the first post-tournament podcast by SCTier! In the guise of killing two birds with one stone, we covered both SCR 2013 and APEX, featuring Xephukai and The Jimbonator as guests respectively. We also have Greatone and a shady mystery guest to express their views and entertain you. These podcasts will typically talk about the event itself, how it was presented, and the behind the scenes not caught on stream.
For those of you who are not in the know yet, SCTier is a budding Calibur de facto project designed to keep the community up to date on tournament listings, coverage, tutorials, and all things Calibur. At the head of SCTier you have your very own SCPartisan and Xephukai.
Yuuuuup, time to talk about dat last-stage character! I know feelings about Algol are strong on both ends, so we'll see what you guys think about this discussion. For this episode, I brought on a name you guys know all too well, BrewtusBibulus. A lot of people respect him not only for his play but for his knowledge of the game, and since he's has some decent success with Algol, I felt it was a good fit.
Confession: I actually put this up the other day and COMPLETELY forgot to post it here. That's my bad, as they say. Such are the rigors of being busy. :( Enjoy, all the same!
This Wednesday at 5PM PST (8PM EST), I (and hopefully KDZ) will be making an appearing during the "Game Vloggers Live" segment of Jace Hall's 1337LoungeLive show. I'm not exactly sure how the show works, but I imagine we'll be talking 8WAYRUN, Soulcalibur and video games in general. And of course, there will be audience interaction with the chatroom.
So if you tune in, you can join in on the discussions, and of course ask questions about Soulcalibur and the future of 8WAYRUN. Yes, I know, this is a forum and you could essentially already do this; but now you have video! The stream will be broadcasted live on TinyChat (which is a thing?).
