to me personally as I did not like the jump of 17 years would have agreed on a jump as much as 10 years because some characters in the series will be no longer or perhaps only in versus mode. what is your opinion of break time and as they believe it affects the characters

I woulda also preferred 10, but what can you do? They've made their minds up. I look forward to unraveling the mystery of who the mysterious ninja "Saggi" is though.

So long as Taki has a jailbait ninja daughter, we cool.

I think its great.

One the one hand I do hope that characters I played come back and aren't old ladies (Sophitia) but on the other this really forces Namco to mix things up and could be the breath of fresh air that the series needs.

I think it's a very interesting direction for the series. I was a little worried initially, but seeing what the developers did with Siegfried made me plenty more confident that they execute this well.

I think they did him justice. Here's to them doing the same for all the others or at the very least, create suitable and enjoyable replacements for those who won't be returning.

I'm cool with it as long as they say "Fuck realism" and let Voldo be some flexible 70 year old gimp guru.

I'm liking the idea right now. Might be thinking something completely different when we know more.

It's all practice!

15 or more is really necessary if they want a literal new generation, so the kids are old enough. In general, its good (imo). Good way to mix up the movesets and roster >

It's refreshing on a lot of levels. Sticking to the same formula for 5/6th time (if you include Soul Edge) would just make the game stale and just another facsimile of the previous games. Its run its course and time to move forward. This allows the game developers more room to do things, write new stories, create characters, improve and add fighting styles, tweak the gameplay without the cumbersome restriction of sticking to the same old ways of whats been done already. Besides for nostalgia sake, they could always come back and fill those 17 lost years with a new game, spin off, perhaps even a CG movie (ahhhhh) if the series continues with success in the many years to come.
