Raphael media =/

the new SEA K being low (and hopefully tracks as well as mitsu's 2K), as well as the return of his 236A from SC2.

The 3rd hit of 6BBB has NO re-tracking if the first two hits whiff and the opponent is roughly 10-15 degrees off.

VE grab from neutral means he probably has a command grab now (still mashable for life)

wrB on CH seems like it knocks them far away, so maybe only 2A+B could connect

Too bad the player was unsuccessful for all the AE attempts... need to see it in action.

I think i saw his SC3 3B animation (being a terrible move back then) so that is worrisome

saw an attempt to aGI with 4A+B, so we dont know what followups it has

Finally, a nice, clear quality vid of Raph! Thanks!
Please post if there's more of it :)

Too bad the player doesn't do much with Raph, but it's still cool to see him in action.

Btw, is it just me, or the pop-up explanation texts are annoying?
"counter, counter, 3 hits, wall hit, guard impact" .... we don't have to read all that, and the red/blue box for that text is too long.

This feature would be great on practice mode, but not on actual gameplay IMO.
I hope there's a switch to turn that off.

22B better lead to something juicy, because on CH it seems to do less than 20 damage by itself.

I checked the video and 22B lands on NH every time.
That means it stuns on normal. Since it's somewhat fast and has a good range, I think it could be a good whiff punisher when we're too far for 33KB.

my god you're right!

Yeah looks like a decent NH combo, not as good as the SC4 version of damage, as im thinking 45-55 in damage being most likely for SC5's followups.

Raph never could CH fish with that move anyways in SC4 (did 55 damage on CH and 60 with JF NH) so I suppose its not a big hit to not have a CH exta bonus

I'm curious about the combo possibilities after 22B :
- SC4 33B seems a bit slow
- 1BB seems weak (if it still exists)
- A+B, A is short in terms of range, meaning 33KB would have worked.

Maybe 66A+B and 2A+B

he has his 11B ground flick (the attack he attempts at :25 in the video, or as shown in the ezio gameplay)

I think (as you inferred correctly) that 22B on NH leads to way better options up close.

I think I saw another Auto Evade attempt at 1:44 or so! He fails pretty quick in it, but you can see the animation start.

And Raphael's voice sounds crazier than ever. I like it.

Super hyped for SCV! :D

Too bad he still says the "fine pet for Amy" crap, lol.

I think i just see a back turned grab attempt then another grab attempt.

However, raphael was always a little mentally unstable with his constant referencing to amy, which pretty much guarantees that she won't return as her sc4 incarnation!! yay!

New point: Why doesn't his hat fly off when he does his 236B ?

We get to see Raphael (briefly) starting at 5:15.

1) hatless raph

2) confirm 33K:B into CE does alright total damage, but eats up 1.5x meter.

3)"Raphael's largely unchanged from SC4" so probably the same gameplan, with stance entries to score CH or continue combos.

4) "has evades, and controls spacing by moving forwards and backwards". This part is my favorite, as raph with a strong backdash would be VERY annoyingly good. Couple that with evades if you predict someone is doing a slower long ranged move for a punish and i'm very happy. Too bad didn't get to see any in the short raph part

5) "Increased damage on his verts". Hell ya, raph was always bottom 3 in terms of the damage compartment, so hopefully this will put some fear into people disrespecting his frames.

Hmmm... not happy about "largely unchanged from SC4" part, but more control spacing, stronger verts and evades is a good news.
I was hoping since Amy is now a different character (not a fencer anymore), Raph would go back to be much like his SC2 version where he was complete, his half of movelist was not given to Amy.

But I'll still look forward and give him a chance.
