α Patroklos General Discussion/ Q&A

It's kinda sad. This SC5 online is an invaluable training tool.
I have atm 65-70% offline JF twisters at the end of combos (versus matches - and I don't really care about first one but I am really focused on the ender).
And online... I was even missing my 214~3B:B timing in combos :( It was... frustrating.

I don't know which online character to pick... perhaps Omega since aPat is the best punisher in this game, she could very well do and make us learn to be focused on unsafe moves.

FFS just dont pick omega. Please. The less of shit OP piece of (...) online, the better for community.

aPat is ok online, i made online every combo i learned on practice. I just suck with him during overall gameplay, but i hope that will change soon:D

By the way, you can play with frame delay during training (just set that option to on) and then you can try your combos as if you played online. I know every connection is different, but if you manage to connect combo on frame delay, it will help you online I believe.

Synraii could you also tidy up the Tira SA. Its a total dump. Theres even a Tira vs Alpha Patroklos Discussion with only 2 posts :/.

Alpha pat players need to remember that some characters have Auto GIs, in my case Tira's B+K. I get it, you like to show off your jf strings but just be more aware for next time.

You need to talk to your own SA mod about that or a super mod, one of the two. I have no power in your SA =/.
Sadly, some people are just lazy - if the problem persists, complain to Bibulus.

Also - we get to show off our JFs when we throw you out of your aGI strings. =)
A+G, 8A+BB, 2A BE, Twister.
214B+G, Twister, Twister.
Each in excess of 100 dmg. Where's your GS B+K now? =P

How does aPat's A+B guard impact work? Ive noticed the move he does after successful GI varies. I would say, that the more successful GI you do during a given match, the stronger counter he will do, but Im not sure if its true. After a couple of successful A+B Gi during training, aPat automatically did B+K, 62B,44B+K:D

I posted a thread in his soul arena for all of that :)

Edit::: Looks like someone deleted it...

The Auto GI becomes more powerful the more you GI with it. In a match it starts at Lvl 1 and increases by one level per successful GI.

Level 1 - 18 dmg
Level 2 - 18 dmg
Level 3 - 18 dmg
Level 4 - 20 dmg + launch
Level 5 - 20 dmg + launch
Level 6 - 20 dmg + stun
Level 7 - 20 dmg + stun
Level 8 - 82 dmg

If it was posted amongst some clutter, then I wouldn't be surprised - tidying this board up meant a lot of stuff was deleted.

Pretty much all of them I'm afraid ^^''. I'm very new to APat. All I could do in story mode is pretty much spam 3b and hope for the best.

Yeah, was about to write that I cant find it:D But I think Synraii has explained it well:)

I try it hard to do B+K, 62B,44B+K in normal fight though. Is there any trick for it?:D

By far, the two most important JFs to know are 1B:B and JF Twister, worry about everything else after you get these down - no good Alpha can play without them.

yeah, but in that case, when first hit goes on block, aPAT will do other inputs and can nail himself on a punish:D

After some practice it is easy to do on training, but in actual fight it is waaaay harder.

IMO its not necessary in this game anyway - 1B:B now out damages it, is quicker and is safe on block. It was useful in IV, but I'm not convinced by it in this game...

yeah, but it looks less cool:D
The other thing: I recently found, that putting a piece of fabric (like from a thin t-shirt) between directional buttons and your thumb greatly helps to do 2143aB :D Your thumb slides on those buttons (but you are still able to press them) thus you are able to execute the input faster (the other advantage is less friction between skin and buttons, and thumb does not hurt that much now:))
