PS4 and the future of the Soul Calibur Series

I really hope that SCVI mantains the SCV mechanics, and only makes a few adjustement. Right now the balance is nearly perfect imho, I hope they will not ruin it.

Does any of you know if any fighting game has been confirmed for the next generation consoles?

I hope they REBOOT the series. Bring back all the old favs and return to a simpler and more streamlined system. Something like SC2 without the glitches would be great. If they want to attract more players I think this would do it, SC2 was simple to get into yet hard to master -- the fabled area that all games try to get into allowing everyone to enjoy it.

Then they can add a butt load of customize options, story ect on top of that.

Ok, so if they make a SCsix how many styles should there be? I think SCfive has too few. Am I crazy to want, like 40?

I think it'll be years... They're probably still trying to figure out how to get themselves out of this clusterfuck with the time skip. Do you keep the new characters, get rid of them, or try including everyone... And how do you handle the story, etc.

I thinnk the series needs a reboot. Back to soulcalibur 2. Also incorporate soul 2's eight way run. 3 and up the game has become more and more of a 2d/tekken fighter.

I think one reboot is enough.... I truly don't want to skip another 17 years and find i'm playing another 'worthy successor' of a worthy successor... with even less moves than before... Sorry - i'm being negative. I just think that- to keep Soul Calibur alive- its probably best to Move Forward as opposed to harking back to 'the good old days'....

Let's just hope the next director of the game isn't Daishi- sorry but I'm not a fan of his.

Just out of curiosity, why not?

I think he and the team let us down...Don't get me wrong- I love the game, but, I do think that with an incomplete product they could have at least given us the full rostas dlc. That would have been perfect considering we had the full rostas player costumes in sc4. And also considering the free dlc from TTT2... which clearly could be easily done for us with the remaining rostas gear.

(sorry- a rushed answer)

But lets move on.

Thats then- this is now.

And we have the future to play around with.

This is Daishi's first time directing. He seems like he isn't in full control to the series just yet, while Harada is the opposite with Tekken. Harada has been director since T3.

I can't lie and say I know the ins and outs of how things work or the dynamics of Project Soul, Tekken Team and Namco- I just have to go on how I feel. And I expect you're right- but- once bitten twice shy.... Any way- whats done is done...

I'm just looking forward to playing Soul Calibur 6 on the PS4. Which almost cancels out my anti Daishi feelings.
