Zass study sessions on PSN/XBOXL

Impending I cant really remember what happened when we played a month ago! I sent you a match request everytime I was online tho! I can remember that you 66BB and 6AB a lot, that would become much more tricky to avoid if you didnt always finish the string.

.

Artilust I rarely ever use 66BB (and when I do I don't complete it half the time), but yeah I'll admit I throw out 6AB way to much. Also what the heck are you talking about? I had a room with you, Billy Patches, and Trolt like a week ago.

On another note I have fallen in love with 33_99B. I haven't checked the frame data yet though 0_o

Well I said I didnt remember!

I actually like Sophitia tho. *sad face*

Amy. . I feel weak up close with her. When they dont fall for my 236 mixup I tend to lose my ground. Even though Amy is better than X at just about everything, Im more comfortable with X.

I played Talim in SC2 and Setsuka in SC3. The reason I cant decide is because at one point Setsuka, Talim, Sophitia and Talim were my secondary/tertiary characters.

SC1 - Ivy, Xianghua, Sophitia
SC2 - Ivy, Talim, Nightmare
SC3 - Zas, Ivy, Setsuka

Whatever. Ill be online in 25 min.

I don't think Amy is particularly better than X. She has some more easily abused shit, but X is generally as fast, and has better range. Talim is crap, though. Setsuka is good, but takes a fair amount of dedication, IMHO. Sophie is also solid (Moreso than Amy), in that her mixups are weak, but she still has the best fucking overall punisher in the game, and a decent SG game.

Okay you two drop it. How is it that the Zas mod is the person derailing topics?

Because my Zas is at a dead end. I have his theory inside out, so now my loses are going to be due to mistakes. . throw breaking .. incorrectly guessing GI . .etc etc. Theres nothing about what he can do that surprises. So it time to more or less move on to my secondary and beef them up.

I took it upon myself to have help deciding a true secondary, b/c I dont have one!

Well . .punishing . .closing range. . lows...tracking. .etc etc! Amy is much better than X!

X tracks way better than Amy (66K and her plethora of horis)
X closes range better than Amy (A+K, 66K, aK, 1kA)
X punishes better than Amy (FC 3B, step B, 66B+K)
X lows are better than Amy (2K, 1A, 1K, WS A+B, even if they're slower, they're not blocked anyway)
X has better throws than Amy (632G+B, more damage on regular throws, better wakeup)
X has better RO than Amy (self explanatory, Amy doesn't ringout really)
X does better soul gauge than Amy (6 blocked 4A+B = CF)
X has better evasion than Amy (step B, bigger step, 1B+K, 2K)
X is better than Amy (yeah! seriously)

Amy has that mid autoGI and 6BB that's really great but that's about the only thing better.

So yeah choose her as your secondary...although i think Zas should be good enough for you though (if he's truly your style)...he's doing well these days so i've heard from Lau...who played vs an excellent Koreans Zas recently. He felt as if he couldn't do shit against him. It all comes down to your basics in the end.

Amy is better than X...true story.

All that matter is...Amy is safer, has better lows, has better mixups, has stupid unblockables, her range doesn't fucking matter...and you know she is top tier.

X is easier to read than Amy.

Let's not get into a tier argument over X and Amy in Zasalamel's forum (I know you already said this, ID, but I didn't expect it to get out of hand. Stupid me). This shit is mostly opinion anyways, and the majority of people whose opinions matter believe that both X and Amy are upper tier.

Artilust, just try them both out for a while. See which one you do best with/enjoy the most, and decide for yourself. Fuck, if you were playing a character because of how good they are compared to the rest of the cast, you wouldn't be using Zas much, would you?

Well remaining on the theme of "balance" if you notice the characters I play, my secondary usually doesnt make me work as hard for my wins.

But yeah, Amy is much better than X! A good X is going to still bait for a whiff and punish with 44B. JK stance is terribly slow and useless if they dont lock up.

X's fear comes in the form of letting her play around, seeing as pressure gives her a hard time there isnt much she can do. 66A+B is now high and the tracking is shite. X isnt really scary. Whore 3A, 66K, OKI A+K into. . mixup.

BUT ANYWAYS .....

Is Zasalamels 6BA on block 4B a frame trap? Qurishimutisiyfisihg did it a lot on me.

And whats the best follow up to 6BA on hit when it knocks them backwards? Some characters with back attacks like Mitsus shoulder ram are too quick for 66BB, sometimes people duck while BT so 4A wont track. BB is too far...

6BA? That shit is -8 on block! Unless you're referring to 6AB, which is +4 on block.

As to your other question, I'd have to check the range myself (Which I can't do right now). Maybe 3A if they're aggressive, or 66B+K if they're defending?

I treat blocked 4A's and blocked 6kB's as frame traps sometimes even though they really aren't. B+K after either of these will beat/tie most people's BB.

If I connect 6BA, 80% of the time I keep doing 6BA until its blocked or they get wise on how to avoid it, which is difficult-- especially if they're flashing. Most people I've played, when flashing, eat 3 or 4 6BA's in a row before they either A) die, or B) give up and suck a CF.

Since we're a small community of Zass players here, I want to start first to 5 matches with you guys. Especially you Qshimitsu, since nothing matters unless everything is on the line.

Lets start records, or a leaderboard, everytime we win or lose a Zass mirror match against each other we post the results here.

I think it will give us more incentive to improve, especially since it will pressure us. I mostly use online as practice for offline, and sofar most players use this for casual play...I say lets add a little more to it.
Who's up for the challenge?

what happened to this idea? we can start this if u like ACE ill b on later tonight.

There still seems to be a little interest in this. I don't really know anyone from the forums, but I'm looking to improve my Zas play if anyone is interested in one of these "study sessions." I play on the PSN and my ID is listed here. Just send me a message here at the forum.

Had a mirror match today with Qshimitsu.

And I realized that I probably never want to do that online again. Especially since Freaky-Stylez/Qshimitsu...can warble my throws and plays Zass around 80% to my 60% online...buffers faster, and reads me like 3 moves a head.
Man I really wonder how people get comfortable enough to go for Gis online.

I would like to commend you for out stepping me, and outreading me, and basically outplaying me interms of mindgames. 10 to 1 was the final score...and by no means were the rounds complete blow outs, most of them where 3 to 2...I would start out ahead, and dude would fight his way back...completely. Sometimes he had me so mentaly beat that he would start to play around, probably drinking some tea in the process.

For the most part if you guys want to really learn Zass, you have to do these mirror matches in a first to 10 format. You will learn a lot more and a lot faster. This mirror match requires a lot of mindgames...a ton. The fact that your opponent knows what you're can do, and you know just the same about him adds that much to intensity of the fight. The difference maker comes down to spacing, GIs, and whiff punishing.

Aside from Qshimitsu there is also Poshib, he plays super aggressively...but I would call him out as the second best in terms of the Zass mirror match.

Damn i need to play some good Zas online too. Seems to be very usefull.
Any Zas-Players frome europe in here?
