That's exactly my thoughts!! I'd really love for them to take this approach. Though honestly, despite me still liking V's attempt (for what it's worth, and left of it), I'm perfectly fine with a text-only universal story mode. Most of the better modes in the series (Edge Master Mode in Edge...
The kanji may take me some trouble to decipher, but I can give it a shot when I can sit down and get to it.
Yes, stages have a small snipped of info in the guide too. The few I remember for example, the Godaido Temple (Natsu's stage, english name escapes me) having a statue of demon-Toki as...
In the wider picture, Taki is likely one of the more pro-active characters story-wise. While it is true she has not impacted the main plot as much as she used to do in the old games, she still has a lasting effect in the overall world and setting, and has influenced a bunch of other people:

Unfortunately, no. Kunpaetku rsurfaced to reclaim the cult's leadership already in this shape, it seems.
The artbook doesn't seems to have any mention of either, not even in the charts. Much like Talim, Zas and the korean trio (who are only obliquely referenced and not even by name)...
Maxi wouldn't have technically died, since the shard only healed his crippled arms. If he were without it, he'd be unable to wield his weapon and fight but that's it. He didn't depend on it to live.
In any case, the fact Nightmare lacked a few shards in IV always seems like a minor non-issue...
Thanks everyone, and sorry for the mental scarring Wandrian.
Yep, since their first meeting in BD actually.
Inferno appears on the charts in much the same way as Elysium, so he's still pretty much there, working through Soul Edge and its host(s).
Charade was reabsorbed into Soul Edge at...
Allright, I've been silent for way too long already, time to get back on track. Let's start with the character info that's been requested. I have not lost interesting or anything in this, just been very short on time, and I hope to be resuming full translation duties soon to share some juicy...
Ehm...I didn't say/meant to say they were confirmed the same with that post (I'd have made a much bigger deal out of it if that were the case). While the artbook does go to some lengths about hinting something's up, there's no outright confirmation on the matter. I put those interesting tips...
No problem, STIATG.
I'm pretty sure there's nothing else about Night Terror outside that short bio blurb. He's not referenced in any of the charts, at the very least.
I'll see what I can get about our resident ancient badass king.
A well-thought up post, I have to agree, and a nice way to see the evolution of Soul Edge. Good work.
...and, in some regards, I think you're not too far off the mark.
Viola wasn't created to give answer, she was created to generate them. :P
IMO, definitively Dumas talking. The few times...
In the complete Japanese profile for Siegfried, it seems more clearly that the whole "ressurection" was entirely an illusion/dream created by Siegfried's addled mind. Fred gets to talk a bit more, being the one who "refloats" Sieg's memories about the massacres as well as telling him straight-on...
I personally prefer they either just make an upgrade or save the stuff for the (hopefully) next installment. Here crossing they get the time they need this time!
Actually, there are a few references to his SC1 story in both 2 and 5 (the blurb about Frederick references the part about trying...
Okay, here I am back (for the most part). Sorry about the absence, but sometimes it can't be helped.
Patience is the key. Hope this post is good enough to pay it back. : )
Done, check below.
Also added it as requested by our illustrous underworld don merchant Dampierre. Mostly in thanks...
That's actually a mistaken belief, dunno from where does that come from. In no point does any profile mentions any "self-defense killing" at all. In truth, Raphael realized too late that a noble the whole Sorel clan supported was malfested, and this gave his aristocratic enemies a reason to get...
