Algol Combo & Tech Trap Discussion

44B > 8A+B > 66B (BE) > 3BB 4BA

I doesn't appear to be air controllable for the air bubble.

Other combos not mentioned are 22_88A can link with 3B be or ce
33a no tech can link to ce

the 3BB is getting blocked for me.

Also.....did anyone mention that 1A > CE is a combo? it tech traps all as well. 1A isn't a stun move so it doesn't scale awful or anything either. pretty nice imo

And a note on bubbles in combos...it seems that bubbles cannot be air controlled except the 4A+B ones. A+B/2A+B/8A+B all seem to disable air control

It gets blocked if you don't buffer I believe or maybe I was stepping forward slightly when they came back from the brave edge. I might go retest it because I was getting blocked about 50% of the time as well.

EDIT: Yeah, 3BB doesn't combo. I might test a few other options after that but I'm sure you could figure something legit out better than I could. I'm really new to Algol V (just beat legendary souls this morning).

Yeah 1A > CE is monster. I didn't know it tech trapped completely though.
 
An interesting (but pretty impractical) combo I found is:

6A+B from about 1/3 of a screen away. Wait a few frames and then A+B. After the 6A+B hits the A+B bubble will launch pretty high and you can run forward and get 66B (BE) off. There are a few options after the BE but I haven't found a really good one yet.

Obviously not many people are going to get hit by a bubble that large and that slow, but I did find it really interesting that the standard bubble launched afterward.

If you catch someone back stepping 4B+K > 3BB.

Sure. It looks cool as hell but no real reason to try for it. I'd maybe try 4BA after the BE but I'm not sure if it hits. I'm running back and forth between the forum and game trying to test.

EDIT: 4BA works. 4BA also works on 44B > 8A+B > 66B(BE) > 4BA
 
Lol im rank 16 online currently and algols my second most played. Ive been abusing the hell out of 4b-a 44A+B. I usually do 1A after that or 2B+K and if they fall for the bubble repeat. My favorite combo thats guaranteed is 3b(BE) B 3B(BE) A+B 3B(BE) B . Does over half health. Easy to punish with. It looks like you might yourself out but its not possible if you do it right. They will fly out themselves

I didn't record it on myself but I tried all air control options and it seems to work. 4B+K seems really good in this game too. Even if you are at neutral frames, if they backstep they get hit by it. Can't cancel to guard or anything to stop it.
 
I dont know if you guys know this but the b+k teleport otgs... Maybe its used as an ender for something like 4ba air hit?

Wow, that's crazy that you can reach the 66B BE after Q! A+BB. That is an incredible combo.

But yeah, 4B+K is huge. Easily one of my favorite moves of his so far.

nice find man, I'm usually a voldo and ivy player but i think i might main viola and algol now
 
Found a good one while on my current 25 win streak on ranked XD. 44B While crouching 8b(BE) 2A+B 66B(BE) 4B-A. Its a bitch to do.
 
Another fun combo that actually might be slightly useful (for other purposes than mine) is to shoot an air bubble above them and right before it is above them launch them with 44B. They will be launched into the bubble and bounce further upward. Shoot another 8A+B (In some lucky instances they launched high enough for another air bubble after they connected with the 2nd for a total of 3) and then go to 66B(BE) into 4BA. I haven't tested this one much at all, so after the second bubble they might be able to air control for all I know.

I'm just figuring out the most ridiculous and stupid shit I can. haha

BRB recording this combo so I can masturbate to it.

Also, quick question. Are there any good followups to WR B or is this move useless now? I suspect 66B(BE) > 4BA but I'd prefer meterless.
