[North Carolina] Let's make a scene

If you guys need help on the Voldo stuff, fight Ando. He's got a really solid Voldo. Really evasive and offensive. I never know when to attack.

Voldo's attacks are just so hard to read. You really have to know the character to fight him.

GGs tonight to everyone I played. Sorry for the shitty alts. I've settled it:

Mains:
Mitsu, Natsu

Secondaries:
Algol, Viola

Secondaries chosen mainly because I feel like they have limited potential right now. Mitsu and Natsu can go far though.

It just sounds like they took you out of your comfort zone, Ron. I wasn't too happy with the changes they made to SC3 Talim, so I just moved on. The simple movesets are to get rid of all the fluff. There were way too many moves in the SC series that had no purpose or were doppelgangers of other moves. I've never hit anyone w/ X's old 11A.

Look, opinions and discussion are all good. I have some gripes about SC5, but I generally keep them to myself. There are a lot of new players reading these forums so keep the negativity to a minimum. If you don't like fat chicks, stop fuckin' 'em. I don't play anything I don't like or have any preemptive bias against, because it doesn't make any sense. I'm not going to drop $60 on a game I'm not sure I'm gonna like.

@Jon: GGs. Your edits are funny as shit. But the Natsu edit pissed me off because it was so big, obscure and I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on. So I opted for training mode to learn Algol. Next time, can we keep the disruptive outfits to a minimum? Good shit on the King of All Cosmos edit and aPat heart penis. I was rollin'.

@Everyone else: GGs as usual.

about Voldo: so far he seems more like 2/3 voldo with a smaller moveset. in sc4 he was top 5 and in this one he seems more high mid tier-ish. his movement does seem slower but he still plays a solid mixup game. as a voldo player, u just have to have a creative mindset and know when and how to apply defense and offense more tactfully this time. I think in this sc game voldo's stances are ALL important and require transitioning quite a bit, at least for unpredictability. Voldo still packs a punch and if u guys learn whats punishable or even just guard people will respect the character. His elbows are beast and he has some other very useful moves like 11K, it's +6 on hit and -16 on block but has great range and is a unique looking low. I hate that they took out the BS version from 4 but it's all he has in this game so abuse it because it leads for elbow setups or u can just wait out the opponent to see chat they do. It seems that voldo is going to require throw mixups more in this game than before since most of his BS stuff is 50/50 mixups now. I'm just saying from recent experience guys, playing these jersey dudes is tuff. They know this game like a priest cites the bible, so getting inside an opponents head is voldo's strength. I hope some of this helps guys.

haha was that Natsu one bad? I guess the big dresses kind of conceal the legs. I'll keep that one for ranked only.

11K is easily seen and super unsafe.

im not saying whore it out just remember its there because it has good + on hit, and at max range not many people can punish it properly on reaction unless ur easy cheesy pyrra. Same goes for 22_88 A, 3A, and 66B because those are some of the best moves to use to bait out frame traps on hit. On paper the move is shit, but from my own fights online and off, those moves are boss. Even people who have much experience vs voldo will still get caught out by a lot of his stuff, but remember voldo is a high risk high reward character. It's mainly 50/50's only his speed is slower in this so u have to take more risks to get big damage. Based on this games engine it seems it encourages that style of play anyway.

Hi guys,

We're hosting a tournament up here in Northern VA for KOF/SC5/SFxT

-Pizza and drinks provided
-Tournament will be run on Asus monitors
- Finals for each game will be run on the BATTLE STATION!

ps. Is that the same Ando that plays King in Tekken?
Fuck you, Millionz! I'm playin' w/ Astaroth! I'm gonna watch Tiamat bullrush through a wall and get kicked out of the tournament venue! >:3

lol...I almost forgot about that!! That tourney was so long ago >.>

And why you playing Asta!? Your Xianghua was so fun to watch

Yeah i wished i coulda made that but i moved to NJ for good this time. Who ya playing in Calibur?

@ Ceron: Whoever u go with just stay solid, ur lex is pretty good and i wanna play er some more. I do need asty practice too though, so look out for me online bro.

Barely won the Champps tourney today, me and Blake had a grueling grand finals. He put me in losers, then I won in the first set in the last round of the last match where we both had like a pixel left, then I came back and won it all.

Fucking Maxi is good in this game.

2KB with Mitsu does like... 15% to Maxi, and he gets 6A+B BE which does 40%... on hit. Good job Namco.

Yeh i think Maxi is top 5 easy in this game, maybe they will patch em but this is by far his best game. I still need matchup experience vs him because IDK what to do, lol. Congrats though bro, were those champs guys any good? I remember they were up n coming for Marvel before I left.

They've got some decent players. They seem to be mostly Capcom guys though. Blake was really the only one that made me sweat.

I really think that rumored patch is going to address some of the damage issues in this game. A lot of people, especially those trying to get into SC5, were blown away by how much damage characters were putting out from a single CH. Most characters in this game can finish you off with a wall splat, but most notably Asta, Maxi, Xiba, Nightmare, Natsu. Hopefully, they don't nerf entire damage across whole move sets and just focus on individual attacks like Natsu's air throw.

And yes, Maxi is a fucked up piece of shit. I rape the hell out of that character and he does one thing and he's back in the game. I haven't played a good Maxi yet and I also haven't beaten one either. :P

I don't really think many things need patching. Only natsu and QS4G. Asto is balanced in my opinion. Also fuzzy guarding seems like a good defencive option. Fuzzy guarding only really works with some mix ups like sig stance mix ups. It's also good discourage low spam. However, it is weak to grabs and fast (LM) or (LH) chains. Personally I feel that it is a great option when used at the right time, besides you don't really get any advantage off of it expect escaping minor damage to life of block gauge. What do you guys think? Do I make sense or am I crazy?

Except that most characters tend not to have low-high or low-mid chains that aren't extremely risky in the first place. The way I understood it is that it avoids throws too, but that could just be misinformation. Either way you're basically making it so that there's even less of a reason to block low than there was in the first place (never). So yeah, get rid of it. It doesn't do anything to enhance the game's flow or mixups. And buff lizardman! :sc5aon1:
