Nightmare is like a giant toolbox.
No he isn't broken, nor unstoppable, and any decent player can surely beat one, but if you're gonna play even a half-assed NM, you better be on your P's and Q's.
Cause he has a answer for fucking everything. There aren't too many "bad" situations for a NM, if any, imho.

Oh yeah Namco, totally reasonable, they nerf the fuck outta Maxi(And I don't play Maxi, and still think that was too much), make several unnecessary dumb nerfs, but one of the few characters that really needed atleast SOME of that, only loses grab damage...??? Are you kidding me? GRABS?! If that's not a slap to the face I don't know what is.

I don't even care about how "TOP TIER" NM is supposed to be, Top or Bottom, do something about that ridiculous rushdown even my little sister can do. It's obnoxious as hell. I don't even care about the damage.

Nightmare got nerfed to a degree with the lack of an overly powerful backstep g. We'll see how nerfed the backstep of all characters got when it's released.

I just lol'd at the Maxi nerf. I knew it was coming. People must have been lined up in droves at Namco's offices after getting hit once with 6A+B (BE) > LI A (BE).

glad u guys didn't get hit too bad with the nerf stick (rightfully so imo) I have been practicin NM lately, and he is too funny, im glad the only two characters I am considering playing seriously hardly got any nerfs, u can pretty much tell a scrub and / or troll when they complain about how broken NM is, he does have all the good tools he needs, but that just makes him balanced as opposed to low tier, not broken imo
 
I understand nerfing A+G since it gives wakeup options, like 1K or Flapjacks, 2B+KBE and such. But nerfing B+G is stupid....it's STOOPID.

maybe NM is a bad matchup for Maxi, i think, most of the time while maxi is doing his dance you can just back step and let him whiff most his stuff, that's where NM can seriously fuck you up. and if you can't back step, that bubble AGI will screw up all his high mid strings. Sorry to hear Maxi getting nerfed to hell, NM has some bad matchups too against Voldo, Natsu or dare i say even Raph, those TCs will fuck up NM's mid range game.

Raph is way too linear.
 
Oh noes what will I do with out my 10 damage from A+G and B+G *beats head against a wall*.
But no seriously considering all the whining going on about NM I'm glad to see that he didn't get hit that hard.
Playing against a good NM is probably one of the most fun matches i get to do. So I don't want to see him changed at all. Though I still want Voldo's A+B from SC4 so i can pwn you all >:D.

I agree but its still a crutch which he has to overcome. Its winnable for Raph but he has to compete with NM's damage and overcome the linearity problem, making it an uphill battle. I would think, kill Nightmare's step and crush his guard would be the first order of business in this match-up.

I just don't really like this version of Raph as much as I did previously. I might still pick him up but he lost a lot of the stuff I loved in SC4 lol.
 
I actually like this version of raph more than SC4 lol... I've been playing him for the past two weeks....

however i do feel NM shouldn't have too much problems in this match up.....

After patch:
-Raph nerfs are not that heavy in this matchup
-Raph boosts will probably be significative boosting also 4B
-Night nerfs will matter (throws)
-overall backstep/QS4G nerfs are agin in raph favor

so i bet raph against night will be even worse for night.

@Lau in scIV raph really had the easiest matchups against nightmare his 4B stun chain was deadly for night...

I'll get back to you on this.... don't really agree with you right now.. but I'm not retarded enough to say you're wrong i'm right without any solid proof (however this is the way how most player works especially on 8WR)... and maybe after research i'll realize you're right.....
