Fliptop makes people.

Wandrian take a look at that thread about Alice in Wonderland and you'll see the best use for that french maid dress you've ever seen

DLC happened. Many updates were made. So here is an incompetent youth, a grizzly veteran and some sort of dragon-man thing put together for Pocky's Iron CAS. Take a look if you haven't already for some of the most ridiculously over the top characters. Seriously. Shiz got real. Anyway...

Allanderick
Allanderickposefull.jpg
"Here are my genitals, please kick them."
Allanderickstancefull.jpg
"I might have just stabbed myself..."
Allanderickstanceback.jpg
"There's a what on my shoulder? I don't believe you..."

Allanderickclose.jpg
"Could you help me? I seem to have a stupid prick wearing a headband on my arse."
Bio:
Allanderick suffers from and over inflated sense of self importance. Grossly over confident in his abilities, he often finds himself in over his head and is prone to run when things get too hairy. It's a concern that his ineptitude will someday come at a severe price.
Allanderick is intended to have a look of someone who wants people to think he's better than he actually is. He's got Pat's coat which has been mucked up and the fierce looking lynx on his shoulder which is scarier looking than he is. This has been juxtaposed with his trousers which are ripped look totally ridiculous and his shoes which are just plain funny. Yellow was used to hint at his cowardice.
Damp's style was used since it's comedic but can have some flashy looking moments as well. It's also got dirty tricks, slip ups where the character falls on there arse etc. A fitting style for him. He had Yun's in SCIV which had a similar deal in the CF but Damp's style has more of it.
Gierhardt
Gierposefull.jpg
"Bye honey! I'm off auctioneering!"
Gierstanceback.jpg
Putters are for pansies.
Gierposeclose.jpg
"Do you mind? I'm trying to unblock the sink..."
Gierscarclose.jpg
You have to ask yourself, is it really still a scarf if it merges with the guy's chest hair?
Bio:
Gierhardt is a huge, jovial individual. His good nature and sense of humour make him a reliable general, however it's his immense size which makes him a terrifying fighter. Once whipped into a frenzy even wild beasts will run from his presence and cower in fear.
Gierhardt is the typical big fella. I wanted to make him look beast-like without using things like horns and rely more on his size and shape to make him imposing. Xiba's top was immensely helpful since it has that tail and the fur around the waist which was perfect. His helmet was designed to look animal-like with the feathers of strength acting like a mane or whiskers of some kind.
Asta's style was used since it's fitting for the big man and he had it in SCIV. I went with the hammer since it just feels heavier and more brutal than the axe.
Grimfold
(AKA Dragon-Predator-Man-a-Saurus)
Grimfoldstanceprofile.jpg
Grimfoldstancefull.jpg
Grimfoldstanceback.jpg
Grimfoldcloseside.jpg
Gravity defying hair gel. From Garnier.
Bio:
I've not really fleshed out this guy's character yet, I'm afraid. Apart from being powerful and intimidating there's not much going on, really. I tried to put scars on his wings but there pretty small and you can only have 2 so I don't even know if they're noticeable (left wing, lower left corner).
Once the DLC hit there were about 5-6 characters I wanted to make and this guy wasn't one of them. The contest required Tiger Lily Greaves so I thought I'd try something out of my comfort zone but had toyed with during the horsemen challenge- those dang tricky Special Items. The greaves have that balance of power and speed so I thought I'd make a monstrous character with a hint of...grace(?). I was determined to make the Feathers of Strength my bitch since they are easily one of my most disliked Special Equipment parts because they never do what I want them to do. So that's where the mask came from. The horns were part of an experiment with Gierhardt, I liked the look when they were flipped backwards and threw them on. Then I thought what the hell, I'll just throw on the wings too and the glowing eyes echo the gems on the greaves as well. So in short, he was put together in a very ad lib manner and there's every chance he could come off as a derpy "MONSTURR" character. I don't care. He's a frickin Dragon-Predator-thing. I will tweak him, polish him up and he will be updated later on down the line.
Cheers Pocky!
That's me for now, still got plenty of galleries to go through.
Feedback and comments are welcome as always. I'm probably going to have to do some reorganizing of this thread at some point, it's getting a tad large. This problem requires immediate sleep. Goodnight!

Huginn and Grimfold are top tier (head and feet are genius strokes), the rest is good but fails to wow me, even though i see the care for details.
If i had special equipments slots left, i'd definitely update my preds with your mouth build ;o)

Here is always guaranteed good stuff
but I will highlight this Gierhardt!!! dude, he is amazing, he looks so brutal, that kind of guy who will take pleasure in crushing your skull

@Left4Dead: Cheers! It's good to know this stuff is appealing to more people.

@Kittenpaste Co."Beautifully"? Maybe. "Professionally"? I wish mate, I bloody wish. Thanks for the kind words!

@Pocky: I keep getting stuck on the third word. I've got a blind spot for words consisting of only the letters "a" and "s". It's genetic or something. Joking aside, thank you very much. It's like being praised by Yoda himself. That's intended as a compliment.

@Vilarcane: My "mouth build" was the most time consuming, frustrating thing since Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Pain. In. The. Arse. Clearly you're a fan of the more fantastical, bizarre, non-human stuff which most of this thread isn't. I do have a few more oddballs to make, though. Cheers!

@Rdmunhoz: Thanks dude. He'll only crush your skull if you piss him off. He's polite that way. ;)

Challenges happened this time. There's also some DLC nonsense but I've not got round to it yet.

So here are the 3 creations made for Pocky's Iron CAS. The item to be used was the Long Sleeved Dress. No I didn't know what it was, either. Anyway here's a foxy ninja, a blue jay enthusiast and some sort of weird robot thing with eyes...in a skirt. Enjoy!

A little something extra made in the aftermath of these 3. This is why challenges are fun:
Foximitsu Alt
Foxipose2full.jpg
Foxistanceclose.jpg
Foxiposefull.jpg
Foxistanceback.jpg
Ramblings:
Foximitsu: I wanted something discordant and striking. This character is mentally unhinged and totally unpredictable. Converse colourings, the script all over her clothes and the somewhat demented yet agile style of Yoshimitsu seemed like a good fit. The alt was just to experiment with gradients and to give her a slightly more human side. It's also more vibrant than my usual stuff which was a nice change.
Bluebird: Continuing my vendetta against the feathers of strength and the feathered plume thing I was determined to get something workable. You also can't put stickers directly onto the sleeves of that bloody dress so I used Adept's sleeves instead. And yes, I got another effing bird. That's about 4-5 birdy characters now. I hate feathery wings and beaks. Tira's style is a nice fit and is very nimble...plus her moves are named after birds so it really was a no brainer.
Reyevolver: I really wanted to find something semi practical for the drums (lol). The struggle was finding an eye-like pattern. I wanted it to look crusty and decrepit, I may have overdone it a tad. Oh and I actually chose the hat because it's a similar shape to the dress. See? I did relate it to the dress...kind of. Damp's style was used because...well it's Damp.
Cheers!

Then there's the other challenge being orchestrated by Le Bello which can be found here if you've not already seen it. The task is to create character which represents a European country. Scotland was my choice.

Alastair

Alastairbackfull.jpg
Alastairwolfposeclose.jpg
Alastairposefull-1.jpg
Ramblings:
I could have just recycled one of my other characters for this but I went with something more grounded and realistic...with a ghost dog...my reasoning is unassailable. Anyway, while Scotland has this image of being full of overweight, ginger, bearded psychopaths in reality we were brutal, vicious bastards with a healthy dose of superstition. ZWEI's style was picked over the Claymore because it's a little unexpected but does fit with highland myths and superstitions with the wolf. The style also has a brawler feel. It's like he's a knife fighter or some thug willing to headbutt you before stamping on your head and feeding said head to his dog.
As for his physical appearance, tartan is to be expected. Maybe not historically accurate but it's one of the visual tells for Scottish folk. Battered armour and smeared blue face paint were used to suggest a weathered but enduring sense of pride...because every Scotsman who's watched our country perform in any sport knows exactly what that is like.
However as with Pocky's challenge I did a little extra. This one isn't Scottish. It isn't even European. It is from Japan. She was inspired by multiple things like the onna-bugeisha and the artwork from this song.
Yasu
(I think it means "Calm"? Correct me if I'm wrong)

Dawnstanceback.jpg
Ramble Ramble:
So as well as being fierce I wanted to give a strong sense of ethnic origin. I used Xiba's style because it seems more energetic, like a tiger flying into a frenzy. Hilde's would work as well, though. The helmet obviously draws a lot from that picture but I did like finding ways to make the Tiger Hood look more like a proper helmet.
Thanks to Le Bello for that challenge. It really got the wheels turning.
And that's it for now. I've still got some other characters to put up at some point. I'll need to update some of the older characters too...and generally organize the thread a bit better. Truly hard times, indeed.
Have a good day!

I'm attracted to your designs because they are so well structured. I mean that top to bottom ..from the way you use color, to the appropriate weapon and clothing choices. There always seems to be a consistent story being told . However, until today I didn't take the time to read the spoiler tags . I really loved seeing the thoughts behind your designs. I see now why your entire character holds together so well.
:)

You read all the guff? In one sitting? You utter superstar. I like trying to give the impression of a story without actually writing it all out. That being said I also like to mess around with things like the challenges and whatnot. Generally speaking most of the characters made specifically for them aren't really connected at all and are used for experimenting outside of my (mainly brown and dull) comfort zone. I like this.

Thank you very much, chobek. :)

Now I need to kind of sort of organize this thread...*sees the 7 deadly sins challenge thread*...I'm going to need more slots...*sees he doesn't have enough*.....I'm going to need a new profile....*realises he can't use copied data from another user*....I'll get back to you.

Thanks, Matty. Your stuff is incredible. I don't know how you manage to do so much so well in such a short space of time but I'm glad you do. Keep doing it.

I've added a contents section to the first post listing everyone in order with a brief physical description and have generally tidied up a little bit. This is my definition of "organized". Don't question it, just roll with it.

Cheers now! :)

Once again fantastic and very underrated work cant wait for the next batch

Could I ask what stickers did you use for alistairs face paint and arm paint?

There's been a lot of crazy and brilliant things on the forum recently. This creation is not one of those things. It's an homage to one of the most recognizable works of art. A masterpiece, he isn't. Jaw dropping, he isn't. However he is always nearby on a book or a scrap of paper, usually created out of sheer boredom or simply to pass the time. He is the immortal stick man.
