Had a ton of fun tonight, y'all. GGs to Lord Savior and OmegaXCN [sic]. I gotta get back into this game. I know I would have done much better had I not dropped basic ass combos and had I played more casuals prior (I only got one game in against TK and neither him nor I were going at it-at it; Just sandbaggin' until actual tourney.) S'all good though. I know what I did wrong...

Hope to see y'all again soon.

By last tournament, do you mean last time playing or last time showing up at all?

EVO is my last time playing in tournament. This was my last time locally for SC. I'll still play casually, but will just play VF competitively until DOA comes out.

I wish more people came out for SC, but whatever. I still had an awesome time.

If you had such an awesome time why would you quit playing tourneys? Don't let others not showing up ruin your fun man after all that's what games are all about.

The national pride stuff gets kinda old IMO, to me players are players, but enjoyable matches regardless.

Doesn't get old for me, or for most people who watch a sport whose teams are based on location. Plus it's not everyday someone from France shows up to play Calibur in my city. At least you got to watch some of the hype though.

There's no point if people aren't going to show, but nowadays online play is much more convenient, so I'm not going to fight it. I'll just play casually and compete in something else. No biggie.

im not sure if doa5 or vf5 will have anything that much bigger than sc5 is. i could be wrong, im probably wrong since i havent been involved in the fgc when they were active games, i just dont think sc5 comp offline is that bad.

I don't expect much for any game not named Street Fighter or Marvel, but we should be able to get 12 people for a bi-monthly tournament at a venue with great food, drinks, and women right in the middle of a fucking college campus in the heart of the city, and we didn't even get that which is sad.

But this comes as no surprise to me because the drop off has been happening for months across the country if not entirely despite the amount of people that tell me how great this game is, which leads me to the conclusion that people just want to play online and or wait for esports to happen.

People need to not take the local events for granted because this is where you meet your new people and introduce them to the scene since not everyone is comfortable with showing up randomly to someone's house to play games. You're not going to have big events for SC if new people aren't coming in and existing players aren't coming out.

What I won't do is let the low turnout out sour the fun that I had.
