i would love to go sora, in fact i had already been invited to go to las vegas for the 4th, that would be a lot of fun, but i think its too short notice for me to call off from work at this point :( see u at evo tho!
 
heya, i'm from the singapore sc community and on my way to evo. am thinking of heading to LA for a little bit after evo, so was wondering if anyone could recommend some good and cheap hotels/hostels? and obviously i'd be happy to meet up with some of you guys for sc5 if i do come to LA. thanks in advance!

I highly suggest staying in orange county if you would like to avoid paying expensive los angeles fees, one of my favorite places to stay when I just want a mini vacation is extended stay, I highly recommend using priceline with the choose your bid function in order to get the LOWEST possible rates, I have stayed in anaheim hills for like 40 a night, this assumes you will have some mode of transportation of course, are you renting a car?

thanks for the reply! i'm not sure i'm renting a car though; i do drive but i'm not really familiar with the roads and stuff. how easy is it to drive in LA?
 
I would suggest avoiding driving in LA, as there is lots of traffic, and lots of asshole drivers, what do you need to do in LA? tourist type stuff or business? driving in orange county is not so bad, but definitely no matter where you stay or where you drive, I highly suggest staying off the road / freeways during rush hour traffic, which is basically from like 3 til 7 or 730
 
it's just post-evo touristy stuff i guess? anyway i found a cheap-ish place in chinatown, not sure if there are any sc5 players around, but do let me know!
 
unfortunately not, you will find the center of the socali scene to be in the long beach / norwalk area (theres not players there per say, but geographically, that is the middle point for all players), there are no players I know of that are in downtown LA, I really suggest a car if you want to tour LA, as its public transportation is pretty piss poor, how long are you staying for ? if I didn't have an odd working schedule, I would show u around
 
i arrive in LA on 16 jul and leave on 20 jul. all things considered i think i will probably end up renting a car. would there be any sessions during those periods?
 
Yes there will be. As I will try to continue playing. As per specific area I am not sure. I may be able to give you a ride taxi if the folks who live close to you may not be able to do it or not. Ill keep ya posted and let us know when you will be around.

On that note:

In case yall didnt know, I am hosting @ my house on the 4th of July. There will be calibur and ribs. The streets get kinda packed around here on the 4th as most of the streets around here and the parks are all having parties. We start everything around 3pm and end... I dont know. I would highly reccommend showing up @ 3 cause it gets really busy around here on the 4th. If you can bring setups it would be appreciated as I am sure yall dont wanna play on my tv that i normally use. Not EVO standard. So incase I missed talking to you directly, come on out for 1 more session before we go to EVO and get all full and fat on the 4th. For my address either text me or hit me up on here and ill PM you. Hope to see yall there.

P.S. If you dont eat meat and plan on showing up let me know. We have some vege stuff to eat but might need to grill additional so let me know if you want more free food. Also everyone can bring additional food if ya want.
