Hopefully Zero can go.
I'm going to Summer Jam instead, so I won't be there.

Shinji? Really? Well I know there's gonna be a couple there this time around and at least one that is going to shut some of the more ridiculous whiners up about Leixia being unviable.
Well... lets see if Mick actually pulls it off at MLG. If he does, I'll be waiting for everyone to start overrating yet another character instead of looking at other player factors.

Mick has certainly been hyped up, we will see.

Don't get me wrong, he's always been good at the game. I just understand that a lot more goes into tournaments than just character viability and knowledge.

Well yeah. This just will prove how good he is, not necessarily that Leixia is better than people think she is. On that same note if he ends up going 0-2 it still may have more to do with what he did rather than Leixia not being viable.

damn man, you sick leixias are so close to mlg and not going?? whaaaat... we can talk afterwards, cmon go fight

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a guarantee he'll win it all but he'll definitely show that you can be successful with her. Hopefully enough to they point where it'll shut up those two or three jokers who no one has ever heard of but are the loudest at proclaiming how she's so unviable in tournament play.

P.S.
I am of the belief that she COULD use a buff in one or two ways but she really is a character that is one dumb buff away from being broken.

Just thought you should know...

Mick doesnt have to prove how good he is.

I worded that wrong.

This will just prove how good he is IN THIS PARTICULAR TOURNAMENT.

I just dont want people putting their entire view of Leixia's viability in one players performance at one tournament, because I do not think that would accurately represent the character's viability.

PS: Before people get on me I think Leixia is very viable for tournament play

Nah bruh it's all good. Your point was taken. But i should say this, damn...this is gonna sound bad and like I'm really on his nuts but fuck it he's my boy. Mick singlehandedly brought back Xianghua in SC4 2 years after the game had already come out. In the late stages of that game he got a lot and I mean a LOT of bandwagon riders to go and discover/rediscover what that character can do. And I feel he definitely has that ability to do it in this game. Albeit in my opinion he has a steeper road to climb this time.

If he does that it would make me nothing but happier. And I get supporting your scene's players, i do it all the time lol. Im just excited to see his Leixia in action, so I can maybe pick up on a few things and watch another high level Leixia. But if he goes 0-2 somehow I dont want people saying she isnt viable. And if he wins the whole thing I dont want people asking for a nerf.

This.

Now I'm as guilty of this as anyone, but the knee-jerk reactions people have to the success/failure of a character due to one player's performance is staggering. Nightmare won some tournaments and tons of people were begging for a nerf. I still think Leixia could use some changes, but the more I discover with her, the more my tune towards her changes. She is a far cry from top tier, but she's nowhere near Rock-status either.

Personally, I want Leixia to do well in upcoming tournaments, but I fear Namco's response if one player takes her all the way.

If I remember right, in SC4, before Mick there was MTFighter. But yeah, you made your point. Like I said, we'll see. If it takes Mick winning/placing well to get people to stop making pages of complaints, then that's just what it takes.

Thanks to Keev and Omega I see people who play other games talk about NM players like their tier-whores. It's surreal.
