Hey you: Do you care about sales figures?

TTT2 hasn't been out as long either. I think those sells are better than SCVs when it launched but I can't remember.

That's cool. I'm glad to hear sales picked up. The first week was pretty disappointing I thought. But I'm not a video game business person.

While I dont want to make excuses for game companies or sound like it: My guess is that there has been lot of promotion and build up for Tekken Tag 2. I mean there was Tekken Hybrid, Street Fighter X Tekken, Blood Vengeance, Tekken Prime 3DS and Snoop Dogg... Now Snoop Lion in the game.

Whereas SoulCalibur V was announced on Xmas Day and there was a trailer for Ezio, IVY'S BREASTS CONTROVERSY and then it was released. I mean sure I saw there was a lot of videos of people playing it at tournaments but its not real hype,

Plus as much as I hate to admit it Tekken is a bigger name than SC. It all comes down with that Playstation Generation. You know Wipeout, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Tekken, FIFA, Formula One, Crash Bandicoot... Ahhhhh. Where as Soul Calibur is one of those Dreamcast games. Where everyone says its brilliant (And it is) but they never played it or bought it. Ahhhhhh...

In short I miss the Dreamcast.

If it's any cosolation, Soul Calibur s the only game I have left for my Dreamcast. x3

I expected Tekken to reach SC's sales rather quickly with the popularity it supposedly has. As another poster said, we may need time... but, lately, I've bumped into a bunch of seemingly new players on PSN. Maybe sales spiked for some odd reason? Was there a big price drop recently?

WiiU version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has not been released yet, so we can't head straight to conclusions just yet.

Soul Edge/Blade: "I get no respect at all."

To answer the general question, i don't let sales figures determine if I want to buy the game. I make that decision for myself. So let's say, I didn't buy SCV on day one when it came out like I originally did, I still would have bought it and form my own opinion of the game. So yeah, Sales figures don't mean too much too me...

But yeah TTT2 seems very popular in my area, it's all the rage and SC isn't very popular at all. But this is of course in my area. But I have to admit, TTT2 is very fun and addicting. I have a lto of fun with it even if I'm not insanely good (still learning juggles and whatnot). The customization definitely is lacking though. lol

Personally I hardly pay attention to the sales of a video game, kinda like Kai, I make the decision to a game by my own terms. I don't know anyone who plays TTT2 me and my friends have been SC loyal since 2 but I was wondering if I should get the game or not.

In case you all missed it, this is ONLY TTT2 sales in europe and Japan, doesn't include American sales... so... THAT BEING SAID, TTT2 beat SCV

Basically SCV sold 1.38m WORLD WIDE while TTT2 .84m in europe and japan... not including russia asia or america... so...

I know zero people IRL who have Tekken tag team tournament 2. However, I know 3 people who have SCV. I think this is a far more important statistic.

I'm going to double post to point out that this is not a far more important statistic. I live in Massachusetts, so yeah, I don't personally know anyone who voted for Mitt Romney/Shitt OnMe last Tuesday, so that certainly means that 58,586,318 people didn't actually vote for him. Makes entirely, totally, literally, precisely ZERO sense.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United...,_2012#cite_note-Election_Results:_NBC_News-2

Tekken is more popular than Soulcalibur.

Get. The. Fuck. Over. It. And. Play. Your. God. Damn. Game.

You have no idea how aggressive people were in my neighborhood trying to "convince" people to vote for Romney.

On-Topic: It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Tekken is, and will remain, more popular than Soulcalibur, especially today when Tekken appeals to not only all types of players, but it appeals to the fads and niches of today's mainstream (Music, for example). Soulcalibur was pretty much doomed from the start. Unfortunately, I feel that guest characters, especially Link, gained the popularity of the series. Many people will say so.

For me, I feel that Soulcalibur doesn't have to be "Tekken" popular, but you can still make a great game out of the series. Not that SCV isn't a bad game though.
