iGDR GUIDE and Move Discussion

Aw Man I have been getting those x3 iGDR's online lately. Nothing feels better then half there health and enemies going "WTF never seen that before!"

This is the only thing stopping me from picking up Cervy as a permanent Secondary. I try it 50 times, I literally might get it 4 times out of the 50 lol. Is it just a practice thing or is nit harder on D-pad than analog? I know how to get it but the practical is completely different

I feel your pain. Cervy probably is my secondary, but I just seem to get days when I literally can't iGDR for the life of me. I reckon it is mainly practice (I use D-pad too), but I've got to admit that my success rate went up a bit when I started thinking of the input as a 2 > 4B slide as that helped me co-ordinate my thumbs to hit 4 and B at the same time.

I can usually tell when I first get on. If I'm mostly getting them when I first start out it is gonna be a good day for Cervy, if I have to go into training for a few minutes to get the rythem then not so much.

Keep praticing! Igdr reminds me of Tennis, when i used to play. It took me forever to get a decent backhand, everything feels right but the ball doesn't seem to go over the net consistently. Practice is key!

I have the motion for iGDR down now, just aiming for consistency. this thread has been rediculously helpful. Went from not even being able to do it once to high % success possible here with all your help. I just have a problem where if i try to iGDRx2 on the second attempt it looks like I iWR b+k. I've spent a few hours here and haven't seen that mentioned I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place but I'd like to know why that's happening if possible.

Whenever the opponent is considered "aired", then he will perform this version of iGDR. So dont worry you are doing it right. You can check by letting the CPU jump.
You know you can do iGDR three times like this. First one normal, the following ones the "aired" version. The last one has to be quite delayed.

i don't know if was posted or not, but i was testing some ways to do iGDR, and i think i got some way to get it easier in combos, the thing is, when you hit a launcher like 3B you inmediatly hold down(2), and when you want to do iGDR do the missing part (14 B), like this:

-3B > 8B+K~2 > 14B

I think is easier to land an iGDR this way, because in the 14 part, is easier to hit B and 4 at the same time.....test it guys, and tell me what you think.

EDIT: testing i found that you can do 214 in a "paused" way like 2 > 1 > 4B, i will post a video ;)

-00:00....hold 2 version
-00:14.....2 > 1 > 4B version

Just a quick tip for anyone currently working on this move. If you're consistently getting DC B, and you cant seem to make yourself tap B faster for the iGDR, try adding an additional input. for instance instead of doing 214:B do 3214:B. this way you can still tap the B at the same rate you were but it should slow down the motion just enough to get 4 and B at the same time. Helped me

I always think that the best way is to try to press B early, then you will get it on time with the 4

Yeah, usually when I miss iGDR these days, I get 1BB, which isn't... terrible. At least it isn't suicide like an accidental DC B, although I remember back in like... patch 1.03 and before, when Cerv could almost always G cancel before the B came out.

Man I just want his teleporting shenanigans from SC4 back. That shit was hilarious.

If you use B+K instead of B you can still cancel out of DC. You just have to get used to hitting G when you mess up and hit 1B+K also.

That... actually sounds like it would be really effective. I didn't know 214:B+K would also produce iGDR. Interesting. I don't like betting against myself, but given how many times I've lost rounds because of an accidental GDR out of the arena, it's worth being more cautious. I'll try that out some time.

Sometimes I go through a phase where I can only iGDR half of the time.

Stuff of nightmares, I tell you...

Worst feeling is missing iGDR all round, win anyways, and then pull it off perfectly during overkill. I just look at my hands like WHAT WERE YOU DOING FOR THE PAST MINUTE!?
It's also kind of embarrassing when you try to pull off some iGDRs in overkill and all the enemy sees is a standard GDR before the replay :( YOU KNOW they're judging you, being all like "pff how did I lose to this scrub"
