Weekly Famitsu Reveals Soulcalibur: Lost Swords

  • Admin
So if you guys remember, back in July, Namco-Bandai registered a trademark for "Soulcalibur: Lost Swords". A week later, they wrapped up their Comic-con panel, and revealed absolutely nothing about the upcoming title. Well as of this week, the title has been officially revealed in Weekly Famitsu.

According to Gematsu, Soulcalibur: Lost Swords will be a Playstation 3 exclusive free-to-play game in the vein of Tekken Revolution. If its similar to their other F2P titles, the game will be "time-limited" where players must purchase tokens in order to continue playing the game beyond its initial demo hours. Not much more is known about the title, but it will most likely be a slightly modified version of Soulcalibur V.

well if SC goes into single player mission achievement genres, I want tower defense SC!
monsters attacking would be nightmares omegas, the greeks, tiras etc, and
the towers would be cervantes, algols, ivys, ezios...who else has spells or projectiles? :) lol

1. I'm not a fan of the anti-casual attitude. There a difference between a person who plays the games because they enjoy the lore and the fluff features, and an entited asshat who just bitches because the game's not going to be an exact rehash of the game they liked the most plus a few extra things because they know oh so much about how to make a good game. That person is called a shitheaded dumbass. We do have too many SHDAs around here, not gonna lie. But they are not the same as casual fans. Don't mix them up.

2. Hell yes I'm going to pick up a free Soul Calibur, single player or not. Sure, it's not the announcement the community as a whole wanted, but it's good in a different way.

I wonder if they'll talk about SC2 HD Online aswell at the Tokyo Game Show next week,or reveal it's release date (Hopefully).

The only thing funnier than that engrish is that LS now sounds like an MMO. Y'know. Without the M, the second M or the O. XD

I don't think the devs really thought this out. The game is basically just SCV but you buy extra characters and tokens to play like Tekken Revolution. Problem with that is V has been out for so long that anyone who wants it probably has it already and anyone who doesn't can just buy it cheaply on ebay.

Your comment on F2P has nothing to do with the point I made in my post about ignoring negative aspects and being positive about the game just because Soul Calibur in the title.

Concerning your F2P comment, sure they can, but you have no idea of if they will add anything or what they will add. It's interesting how you and others who are pushing for people to be positive can only base your positive attitude on wild speculations about things that could happen or maybe happen instead of basing your opinion on the information that's out there. Right now for me (and many others based on this thread) out of all of the information released about Lost Swords there's nothing to be positive about.
You're right. More exposure for Calibur is a bad thing. What in blazes was I thinking...

No, this isn't like SCV at all. Did you read anything? It's a single-player game, probably more like Soul Calibur Legends if I had to speculate.

I'm still waiting to see what Lost Swords actually is, but I would have preferred to see SCV updated along with having more single player content added to please everyone.
