Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

They could have come up with... an undercover cop posing as a child prostitute who fights with an ASP baton. A fighter with a weapon debuts, her small stature makes sense, and you still get all the Chris Hansen cases.

Don't mind me, I'm just complaining for the sake of it...

More screens of Marie Rose, most of them in her second costume.

Looks like she has a throw similar to the monkey-style kung-fu throw of Eileen. She straddles the opponent and claws into their face.

Based on what I've seen from the limited video footage, she seems more like Brad than Bayman or Leon. Although those stances are more like sabaki-stances that transitional stances like Brad's. So I guess... she's a little like Pai?

"Her fighting style is Systema!"

No it's... No it's not.

Can they just come out and say that they couldn't find a good mocap guy in time? Instead of lying?

She seems to have a few of Rachel's moves too- her PK, 214P, 7P, 6KK, command sidestep... (I'm sure one of those is originally Tina's...)

I know these fighters aren't supposed to be realistic, but I'm getting real tired of developers just %^&*ting all over it.

There's so much room to be creative. To make things seem plausible. To make me step back and go "woah, I've never seen that before."

Instead they gave her a shunpukyaku. Why'd they give her a shunpukyaku?!

It's just so anime. So moeblob. They could have at least tried to hide it but they went balls out.

The inappropriate leotard is just icing on the cake.
Alot of her moves are actually homages to other similar teenaged characters in fighting games. Sakura's Tatsu, R.Mika's Flying Peach, Pyrrha's 66A+G throw, Lili's Dominating Heel, Matterhorn, Dendrobium, Divine Step etc.

Her regular holds, advanced holds, sabakis and throws however do seem to be pure Systema.

It's obvious by now that they will never have a fighter with a weapon in DOA. They've already had multiple chances to do so (with the ninjas and Rachel) but they all given them hand to hand movesets instead.

Is there anyone here that lives in SoCal and plays DOA, that is willing to come out to Wednesday Night Fights and/or weekend casual gatherings?

@Ishimaru Jinrai don't you live in SoCal? I believe I saw you mention once before that you wanted to attend one of SOCALDOA's tournaments.

Nope sadly I don't live near there.. T__T; I've always attended a lot of Halo tournaments and I go to anime convention game tournaments but never gone to a major fighting game based tournament, it would be a good test! =] I main Christie but I might swap up to Marie Rose if she's fun enough to play as! >:D

So...Genra doesn't count?

Are you possibly going to SoCal Regionals 2014 in Feburary, then?

I'm not sure if Genra's vajra counts as a weapon. Sure, it's very Darth Maul, but Genra's an unplayable boss so I don't think he counts.

Although I guess there could be an argument for Tengu's giant fan...

From the arcade videos, I've noticed some improvements to the particle and graphical effects in the game. Sand now dusts up similar to water effects, and as far as Marie Rose is concerned her animations look more fluid and seems to have more animation to them than the rest of the cast. At the very least more effort was put into her animations and moves than Momiji and Rachel.

As was pointed out. Genra was a boss who, unlike Tengu and Alpha, was never made playable outside of Dimensions (where he's an unlockable bonus). He's the exception to the rule and most likely never really meant to be a regular member of the cast.

Awww.. I might but that'd be badass if I could! xD I will go to EVO I'm hoping! I'll go for DOA5 Ultimate and Killer Instinct.. I wish they had BlazBlue tournaments but I'll suck now because everyone is playing CP, and I don't have it... =__=;

Best IMO.

(I don't know if Mila's costume actually fits her character, but it looks nice. Maybe a bit too proper for mount position.)

Costumes are really hit-and-miss with them it seems. I wonder where they get their ideas from since they have to spend money and time on making them...

Ugh, beat an A- Tina player, lose against a D+ Rig.

I wasn't doing again fancy against either of them, but dealing with laggy Rig players using a very simple style and limited move set is tricky, especially when those Rig players are using neutral kick strings.

At least with the Tina player, it wasn't so laggy that the typical Tina move abuse that dominates in lag conditions won out this time. Still, for an A- player, lots of silly mistakes, attacking at disadvantage, attacking after getting up, low hold whiffing to escape stuns...

That exception to the rule needs to come back.

Tell me this asshole wouldn't be a hype machine.
