Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

Any more tips for Bayman? I'm using a very limited move list and strategies for opponents during stun, but I'm really uncertain what moves are useful for stunning opponents.

...Marie Rose uses Lili's f,f 3+4 /Piercing thorn as her Power Blow. I think I'm sold on buying this. Also, she has Lili's WR 4 "Andante", d 3 "Thorn whip" and the second hit of her 2,4 "Bedtime" NC string.

He wasn't a weapon character though in the strictest sense of the term, which was the point of the discussion.

Never said it wasn't. This was a segue, because your discussion was boring and lacked explosions. I provided them.

@Mage
Rachel aka the real GHODDESS of DOA.

Rachel or Alive 5 Ultimate: Rachel
I love Rach, but no way! As it stands now she's pretty firmly the definition of "average", what Aeon was before people found out how to play him. Because she doesn't really excel at anything, you can't turn your brain off and rely on anything to bully your way through matches... which means you have to rely on the game system and know your opponents inside-out to do well. Which, really, everyone else can do, too.

I would suggest...

- Kasumi, if you wanted to abuse the speed advantage.
- Ein, kind of like Nightmare (whiff punish type), fairly simple to use.
- Gen Fu, short movelist, has a blender (though it might be hard to find comprehensive starting information on him, you'll have to figure out how to play him on your own.)
- Jacky, still suitable for beginners just like VF. Bounds make his combos easy and consistent and you only have to use his Just Frames if you want to.

I'm not sure if Ein could be beginner friendly, he doesn't really feel or play like a DoA5 character, and doesn't feel like one that could easily adjust.

Kasumi and Gen Fu I could say are friendly. Jacky I'm not so sure, I don't think he's considered friendly anymore in VF5.

Decided to buy this and have a go at DOA. Any tips for easiest characters to begin playing with?
Just pick a character you like...everything else is up to you and your
Knowledge/instinct/motivation etc.

I finally bought after all this time and the game is actually really fun. It's kinda Tekkeny with the movement but overall the game play is fun and engaging. Zack and Ayane are the characters I'm using at the moment.

Mage, the most beginner friendly characters in DOA5U are;

Momiji
Ein
Genfu
Hayate
Hitomi
Rachel
Kasumi

Ein and Genfu are the most well-round in that lot. Ein is simple, straight forward, has very good damage, and is very well balanced.

Genfu (my sub) is simple, has very good damage, and is a monster in CQC (close quarters combat). If you were to give Genfu a shot, I can certainly help out with that.

Momiji is probably the most beginner friendly character in this game. Very good damage, one of the best whiff punishers in the game (66PP), good pressure, good movement and mix up.

Hitomi is straight forward like Ein is. However, she has a lot more string variety and mix ups than he does. Very good damage, amazing KBD ability, solid whiff punishment, good tools and good pressure.

Hayate is a solid and well-rounded ninja on the roster. He's got good mix up, good mobility, and solid damage.

Rachel is very good, although she is slower than the rest of the female cast because she is a super heavy weight. But she has solid but straignt forward strings, pressure, and good damage.

Kasumi is fast and she has solid damage overall. Pretty good tools, good mix up, good pressure.

@ZOo00OOm if you need some assistance on Ayane, I'm at your service. Anyone that is anyone in the DOA community knows I'm the go to player for Ayane depth.
