Coming back to the game... would appreciate yalls insight to help me decide who to devote my time to

[10] Knight
Hey all,

I haven't played since.... I think... march last year? Anyway, I'm starting to play again, and as I relearn how to play I'm taking the opportunity to learn a character I didn't know before.

My problem is, I'm having trouble deciding who to learn... I like too many characters. But I have narrowed it down to (in no particular order):
Pyrrha Omega
Patroklos
Tira
Voldo
Raphael

What I am asking of you in this thread, maybe if you play these characters, or maybe just if you have knowledge about them, I'd like to know what makes someone good or bad at these characters, so I can rule some of them out for myself if I don't meet the criteria.

For example, I tried out yoshimitsu for a few days, but the necessity of just frames being integral to play well as him rule that character out for me.

I'm not really having any trouble with Oprah's stab just frame, but I need to do some testing to see if I can DNS fast enough to make her worth playing. If I can't do double quarter circle fast enough to punish things I should be able to punish, I will eliminate her from my list.

I would appreciate any insight that might help me eliminate some of the other characters from my list.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Great at poking and punishing -13 and above unsafe attacks with high damage punishers like CE(i13), NS B(i14) and DNS B(i15) damages guard very well(4b, 66B) and has very high damage potential.(NS A > CE step kill, DNS B whiff puinsh etc).
You can play simple and effective and win, getting i15 DNS B isnt a must have right now and lets you work on your basic spacing, mix ups and simple punishers first.

Patroklos is probably the best for beginners/people getting back into the game, he's so simple to use it's hard not to do well with him, with 66B, 44A, 1B, 1K, 236B, etc. The character is built in with everything you need to do well with him. Although his win pose will make you want to punch him in the face.

^ Agreed with this guy. Patroklos is very easy to use, just like most fighting game protagonists. If you don't mind his asshole personality, he's actually a pretty good character to use for beginners and experiences vets alike.
