Astaroth's Combo (Discussion)

I had no idea it was the Ukemi that did that, I'll have to remember that myself. Always thought that the whole mode was glitched and did that regardless.

Yeah, for characters like Alpha, Nightmare and Astaroth it's best to turn off ukemi during wall combos (and also just not ukemi when put in that situation against them).

So it looks like CH WS K => 3B will whiff if Natsu is too close. One more reason to hate that match-up

1A+G/B+G and if they escape, 66KBE for guaranteed damage anyway
I never thought to try a ground throw. Was always looking for a way to get a wall combo going. I should probably train myself to always do 66K BE whenever I can in that situation.
I just use 4 b after it... Small Guaranted damage and no meta used.
I guess meterless there's no better guaranteed damage?

And I could always go for another 2A+G/B+G after that. Seems like a lot of people let themselves get hit by low throws after 4B on hit.

Nice vid, Cyan.

Any timing tips on landing 28B+G on the tail end of combos, or is it just a random positioning/luck thing? I've lost some matches trying to squeak that fkr out! ty

It only Works on Male characters ( other than The Pats and Xiba AFAIK) and you need to look for the feet of the enemy. when he is grounded ss to the side where the feet are, it wont work on the sides or front of the oponent.

Any use for B+K? I use at sometimes after 44A when I'm to far from the opponent and 6B cannot connect. And after that, I try 6AA then low throw. But 6A whiff in some characters depending of the stance they have.
So... Any ideas after B+K?

After B+K going for a command grab is a good choice because you have huge frame advantage (+13), if the opponent doesn't duck it's guaranteed.
If you think he is going to duck, go for a low grab :P

I don't think I saw anyone put up 6(B+K), 3A+B, & A+G or B+G. What I also see is what most people do is 66B after 22_88B BE. I'd recommend using 3K,A. It does way more damage then both A+G & 66B. I only use A+G if I know your gonna hit a wall. I never use 66B. If you're having trouble doing 3K,A, use 22B BE only, it makes it much easier to pull off, because their legs are up higher then their head.

3KA is not guaranteed most of the time, the opponent can air control before getting hit by the 2nd hit.
Close to the wall it's harder to air control, so it might be useful at the end of a wall combo.
For example: 22B BE, A+G W!, 3KA W!, B6B, 88K, 22B BE, 3KA

I catch a lot of people with it fairly well without the wall for support. However, if it makes it easier, so be it. Either way, it's much better then using 66B.

If the opponent doesn't air control you'll catch him everytime, of course.

Is really 3A+B a better option than 6B after 6(B+K)?

No, it is not.
After 6B+K the best options should be:

- 6B, for great damage; side ringouts
- 1BB, very long front ringout

I checked the official combo list and it has a weaker version of the combo I discovered. If I find any more that isn't on there, I will place it here as well.

(2 full bars required)
CE~22B BE~66B BE~3B (156 Damage)
