DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

Darklurker is a melee guys worst enemy....... anyway for the pvp doods here how do you handle mages with MLGS with CM buff on it? its insane. Its the highest damaging weapon in the entire game and in pvp 1-3 hits will most likely kill you. It's just even worse that lately in iron keep im seeing alot of people flocking to this build and its the one i had most trouble with.

My char is a dex build. I use the Murakumo, Manslayer and espada ropera ( my new fav weapon) I can dodge most of their spells but once i get in close range my stamina is already at half and below and their already swinging their weapon at me, it's insane how strong mages dominate both the long range and close range battles

PS: This is a dex build so most likely i wont put on havels or use rebels greatshield, it would feel out of place to me on dex characters.

Where do I go after talking to the Ancient Dragon? Confused!
Once you get the Ashen Mist heart you can enter memories. You are supposed to got back to the Forest of Fallen giants and interact with the dead giants that look like trees. Each one has a memory you can enter, besides the one that spawns the seeds of the giant. There's also something you can interact with in the boss room of the Duke's Dear Freja.

i have only encountered that crap in PvE while i'm sunbro-ing. to be honest, i think the only real way to beat it is to try to either A) get better at dodging its attacks or B) try it out for yourself and see what you personally have problems with while using it and apply that knowledge to fighting against it.

you could try to parry it once you get close since i assume most people just R1 spam once you're in their face. since it has the greatsword (class) moveset you might wanna try practicing parrying it with something like a bastard sword or claymore against a friend or something.

*this is also coming from someone who has never fought against a CM-buffed MLGS so take any of that with a mountain of salt.

random sidenote: i've been getting much better with my whipping skills....or my opponents don't know how to deal with whips. i prefer the former.

so i've been co-oping for some tokens and the last few times i get the "master has left the area" kind of message. it's not like i'm using the mini-soap so i have no idea what's happening.

Wait for the patch/calibration they're supposed to be putting out today :P
do we know what's gonna be in the patch yet?

edit: nvm here it is:http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls2/comments/22i1y3/online_regulation_patch_v104_fully_translated/

holy crap! lucatiel might not be useless anymore! i mean she'll probably still stare at the smelter demon and die, but it'll take a bit longer. i'm kinda glad the old sun ring's damage is gonna be reduced. i started wearing it to help against R1 spam and i've had times where it did 400~500dmg. granted the ring's explosion is easy to dodge, but dayumn!

Translations are done by me, and I work as a translator. I'm confident in my work.

Edit: Healing spell casting is adjusted to be slower. Thank you for pointing out.

Edit 2: Apparently "Online Regulation" is called "Calibration" in English. So this note is for Calibration v1.04

Edit 3: Wrath of God revision seems to be confusing some people. It means that the amount of time that counts as damage inflicted is reduced, meaning that the frames for which WoG is effective is reduced. Basically you can probably roll through it more effectively now.

If you invade someone, they can go through the mist and enter the next area/boss room and it will kick you out of their world.

that's the thing though, i was summoned with the white soap and i got kicked out. we were all about to head towards the boss fog and once the host crossed it, the other phantom and i just stood there like wtf. i'm not sure if it's because the sign appeared and he hasn't beaten mirror knight (but has killed the dragonriders) or what.

Oooooooooooooh Yeah that happened to me a few times last night too. I was trying to level up in the Sunbro cov and the host would enter the boss fog door and it would wait a second and kick me out to my own world.

They DC'ed because they don't want to be ganked. Kappa

I assume they nerfed the Last Giant because new players would get insta-killed if they made a mistake. I understand nerfing the Lost Sinner's pyros but not her own stats. I really like her battle, it's very intense. That being said, I did run through it again last-night with a new character and got pretty salty. One hit does put you at a severe disadvantage. Healing is nowhere near as easy with her, so that might be it.
I'm mostly happy about the spell nerfs and summon buffs. WotGs if fucking retarded, hopefully it's rollable now.

Also salty about the corrosive urn nerfs though. Hitting people who have a brain with those things isn't that easy, and it's easy to get greedy and die trying to throw one. Does anybody know how much durability damage they actually do? As it is now it seems to take really long to break something if I try. Apart from the shit that literally almost breaks itself like the Third Dragon Ring or something.

Kind of sad they didn't balance out Normal Vs. Elemental Scaling damage :'(
Oh well, they had this problem in the first game, maybe their waiting a little while o see what happens.

I want stupid scaling damage for my Rapiers like the magic. Kappa

I made a new character to redo my main with a standard pvp level, and finally found the Foot Soldier Sword. That thing has an amazing moveset, but only 20 fucking durability. I tried fighting Najka last-night and it broke just hitting her body. It's like everything I wanted but it can't take any punishment. And I don't know where to get a Bracing Knuckle Ring that isn't endgame. (The +2 BKR still doesn't even seem like it reduces wear that much)

Either that or a Poison Flamberge are going to be my weapons of choice.

Bracing Knuckle Ring that isn't endgame.

Lost Bastille I think?

Planning a Mundane character, weapon choices seem to be down to Ricards, Avelyn and Santier's. Anyone had any experience with those? The other 20/20 weapons ain't catching my eye much, and tbh I could just use Avelynn as backup so it's 'tween Riccy's and Santa's.
