DARK SOULS 2- Praise the sun

so i decided to finally start doing some blue invasions with my NG+ fath/str guy. went pretty well surprisingly! not only did i actually get to invade, i also won a good portion (maybe 70~75%) of my games and only 1 ragequit. still have not gotten the stupid ring to work though =/
Yeah... I don't think there are many people in the Way of Blue covenant.

I've had the ring work twice. It was fun coming to someone's aid but yeah....it needs to be tweaked

I've been summoned with the ring once. We were destroyed by a Chameleon Pyro. It was awesome.

So, using Dark Hail to catch people trying to roll away from Dark Orb is the BEEEEEEEST. Better stepkill game than anyone in Calibur.

is it bad if i want like 7 rebel's greatshields? the 100% reduction on anything you want is a godsend, been kinda laughing at MLGS users. i even got my first hatemail because of it! the guy thought i was hacking because his MLGS and various sorcery didn't do anything behind muh shield. how have i not played with it sooner?!

PvP is starting to stress me out.
Maybe it's just this new character, this 2nd pyromancer of mine who uses Pyromancy/Fists but--like--someone did that horrible 2-hand greatsword R1 R1 where the sword flips round forwards afterward, completely missed me, I run to their back and get a normal R1... then seconds later we're both walking sides ways and he backstabs me to my fucking face! I just don't get that... I can't understand how that works.
I only did a few duels on the guy this morning, but it's the worst time I've had so far... Not just being almost completely unable to land Fist attacks, but on top of that, not being able to dodge, backstab... things that don't relate to Fist at all.

It's just... I want to enjoy it but I can't take it seriously if the lag is the way it is. At least before it was consistently bad, now it's good for one, bad for the other, and shifts at any given moment... On top of that everyone's doing the same thing, so it's not fun either... You'd think there would be more hex builds considering how broken Great Resonant Soul is but no, no let's all be sorcerers... all of us.

Well, if you're like me and constantly get invaded, I just lay down and die. I un-equip all my gear and just walk towards them and let them kill me. Its how I racked up my 12 million SM before beating the game for the first time. Granted, I didn't start actually doing that until my SM was around 10 million or so...

And granted, a few players (two or three, actually) just ported home when they saw me do that.

That's such a waste! ...I never get invaded.
I've been playing this non-stop since release and haven't been invaded any more than 10 times. If you're getting all the invasions, do the Sentinels a favour and join the Way of Blue so the covenant actually works for a change.

Anyway, no... I'm not of that ilk. I'd like to be doing invasions myself but it's so unfun I just stick to duels, and even that with the way things are right now, isn't great.

Well you should figure it out, because aside from the grammar I don't see anything out of the ordinary here.

I personally prefer a Dark Souls in which you have to maintain your pressure so they can't heal, managing your stamina well enough to always be in range and an immediate threat. But, with the way the Brotherhood dueling works, this is exactly what I would expect from the community and I can't think of a better signal myself, if one were needed.
I've never seen anyone do it myself though.

I've been doing some invasions in Aldi and it's actually been fun. I guess people are confident enough in their builds at this point to not constantly run away, heal and summon at the slightest chance, and there are tricky enemies you can get behind if you're in a gank situation. Above all that though, there are actually people there and the orbs actually function... which is nice... And it's not always the same build! In fact, most people were using miracles.

Somebody complimented my build yesterday. The fashion souls is finally paying off. What are you guys SLs? Would be cool to pvp.

168. Milling about putting off beating NG for the first time. If I leave the Sunbros does my sunlight spear lose damage or whatever?

Speaking of Fashion Souls, there's a guy who wears a white robe thing and the penal mask, and looks so legitimately kendo I couldn't deal with it. Like, I thought it was a set.

All my characters stop at 150.
That's what I heard the new cap was, and there seems to be plenty of people at that level even deep into NG+. Who knows who decided that, but it seemed like a good stopping point towards the end of the game anyway.

No.

Just 100% completed Dark Souls 2 :)

yeah with poise being bleh fashion souls will rule them all! i don't really have a set look or anything, kinda changes day to day, but i'm using the judgment set (from cromwell the pardoner) for my LV160fth-str guy. and speaking of PvP i finally got to rank 1 in the blue sentinels on him.....only 100 more until i WoG the world!

WoG isn't that good...
It's a lot slower than it was in DS1, and doesn't seem to be hard to roll after this patch. Nothing else shares it's animation so you know what's coming, and unless you have 50 ATN for whatever reason it's only got 1 cast... and I don't think you can legitimately get more than 1 of the spell as it's a covenant reward.

Also, although I was using Chime of Want and not Dragon Chime, it hasn't 1-hit killed anybody I've landed it on today... 1200 damage or so, so nearly, but not quite.

On the Fashion Souls thing, defense can make a huge difference. Sometimes my dagger guy hits for 250, sometimes he hits for 12. Twelve.
You have to make the most out of what you allow yourself to use, otherwise you will be killed in one combo by a lot of things.

Oh wow! Sacred Chime Hammer apparently casts the Lydia Black Mage version of Affinity... I kind wanna try that out... :/

You can buy WoG from Chancellor Wellager on NG++ as well as a few other covenant spells, so perhaps 2 casts? or more if he resets his inventory for every NG+
Oh yeah... I forgot about that. In that case, you might be able to get a few casts eventually.... or 2, whichever.
