Destiny

Death_Emperor_X

[10] Knight
I just got off the beta & Holy Shit, sir. It's a really damn great game. Anyone else played it yet? If not, do so; I highly recommend it. It's a really great game, especially if you liked Mass Effect, Halo, or Borderlands.

It does look pretty fun, especially as a co-op game for my wife and I. Maybe next year, when I'm ready to take the new console gen plunge. Warframe (PC) is our thing right now.

There is no splitscreen at all. I know, I was thinking the same thing. Huge disappointment.

I must be the only one who is kind of bored by this beta.

I picked an EXO Titan. Should of seen me in Battle Mode, I was berserkin through my enemies & mowin bitches down. One by one, I bitch slapped my enemies. Already I embarrassed a lot of players in battle mode. The only thing that I don't like is the Hunters ability. That damn blazing handgun; it's quite the killer. It halted me a few times, lol.

Hunters gotta get hype before they use that ability. You can shoot them while they're waving their arms in the air.

Could be the reason for me to buy a next gen console. I'm no die hard shooter fan but destiny looks really amazing right now. And i like Halo and Borderlands, both are great games!

It's better than I thought it was. I honestly wasn't too hyped for Destiny until I played through the Beta.

I pulled off a combo with two kills from my rifle, one kill from shotty, & three kills from Titan Bombing bitches in 0.8 seconds. My Titan Bomb ability fucking kills! I was berserking through the enemy front lines while doing this. Already I fell in love with my own strength & maniacally laughed like a power hungry berserker. My rage build through blood shed & consecutive kills. I nearly became unstoppable.

The sad thing...... I still lost ;.;
Just wait till I get stronger, with better equipment. No man, woman, nor child can fuck my sheer brute strength. Tackling the front lines with berserking brute force. n.n

Will this game have single player? Or is it multiplayer only like Titanfall?
The main bits are single player or co-op focused. You always have people bopping around, but only the crucible's PVP. Best description I've read so far is it's Phantasy Star Online except a FPS.

so far, it's just like Phantasy Star Online, except a FPS.
Indeed, I've said the same thing to my cousin when I first joined the Beta. I told him, I was instantly reminded of my days of PSO. All it needs is just the PSO-U soundtrack. EXO is exactly like CASTs. Did you notice that even their names are the same as PSO-U? Guardians. Lol, I felt like I rejoined the Guardians when I joined the Beta.

I'm using what is apparently the worst PVP class. The Warlock. Still can get in the berserking pretty effectively with my shotgun (have one I upgraded so it does 62 damage which will punch a hole in most shields I've encountered) and soul punch combo.

Also super grenades generate the rage pretty efficiently in others. Yeah, you shot me. Too bad I vaporized everyone in the room.

Still really nice for single player and exploration since that double jump and glide can get you almost anywhere.

I played the Alpha then got the keys for the Beta (without pre-ordering - I guess they sent it because I signed up for the Alpha) but I wasn't able to play until yesterday when the servers finally came up after maintenance.

I like the fact that it's more polished and actually has somewhat of a storyline. It's okay game if you like MMOs with an FPS a la Halo feel which is exactly what it is - at least that's my impression so far.

The thing I don't like about the story mode (which is single/coop online) is the fact that it plays like a glorified HALO game in "firefight" mode with the same dumb AI mechanics. I mean really, the enemies don't use any sense of strategy to really flank against you or otherwise. They just sit there at a distance and strafe back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.... and maybe once in a while, some of the stronger ranks come at you in Berserk mode or similar fashion. Even the way the enemy is filled in the maps with ships regularly "delivering" them onto the terrain just feels like a re-skinned prettier version of the "Convenant" just re-labeled the "Fallen". And that sequence where you first enter a dark hall with all that organic growth on the walls, tell me that didn't remind you - the pacing, music- like encountering the "flood"...

In the city, which is like the base of operations where you go to "rest, refuel, equip, purchase, trade, socialize/goof-off, etc." - its the same social town hall you find just about every MMO these days except this one feels all Mass Effect switching to 3rd person perspective. So nothing really innovative there. Again, was hoping for more but those sequences, those repeated sequences of ship going off to orbit between "missions" (which frankly is nothing more than an "elevator" loading screen) and then going back to the city continually reminds me that well... gaming wise - we're still not there - the feel of a real live "city" where you can explore things and be immersive. Still too many "walls", invisible or otherwise... {gaming engine wise - here's hoping we see cool stuff this generation - "PROCEDURAL" - "No Man's Sky"}

I still have yet to try the "Crucible" which is the online PVP mode which I'm hoping is far better - the real meat of the game - because that's the best part of any Halo title - the online competitive multiplayer. I'll try it tomorrow if I have time after work.

Overall it's not bad, actually quite good, if what you expect is "Halo". But this is not suppose to be Halo and I was sort've hoping for something new and refreshing from Bungie. Not just a re-hashed game on a much expansive scale, retooled without Microsoft's IP handcuffs to sell what could have essentially been a super HALO MMO multiplayer game online. But only this time it's called "Destiny" so they can sell it to you on both consoles... still, I plan to get the full game when it releases this fall. I like Halo. Not really into MMOs these days - (loved PSO - the original series - hated the sequels with their generic looking weapons and items) but I think I can give this a shot and actually enjoy it.

I'll say that Crucible is strange. I'm not exaclty a FPS fan, so that's the first PVP I've played in a FPS since Unreal Tournament.

That said, my impressions as of now after playing two maps (there is apparently a third, but it's set up roulette style so odds of you getting anything but the lunar map are really small) Moon's map is a decent size, but the vehicles are the deciding factor. A team gets control of them, and they will steamroll you since capture points are right nest to any given front door and they can just drive by you at their leisure and stopping one of those things is silly. (Spider Tank has lower damage thresholds)

Venus felt super claustrophobic with all the capture points on the map the next room over. Unsurprisingly, there were no vehicles on that map. Fast paced, and I usually ended up getting camped at every turn.

I never drive those vehicles, I'm more of a foot soldier then anything else. Those Ghost looking like vehicles don't look good anyway. I keep killing the driver or destroying the vehicle more often before it could do anything, even when face to face. Only the bigger vehicle is a bit of a problem. I've only won against it once, but it's defeated me like 3 times. I just gotta avoid the big fuckin bullets! n.n

I would agree, but the fallen do get tough in numbers. The Wizards, Eyeballs, Knights, Cpts., & Spider Tanks prove to be quite devastating when grouped. Keep in mind, that's only normal difficulty. To change the difficulty settings might be a try hard face with clenched booty chikes. If the whole team dies, you gotta restart all over on your current check point, & all the ammo you used, doesn't recover.

Loving this game so far. Wish there was more to do in the beta (Lvl 8 cap seems a bit low even for a beta) but what is there was pretty damn fun. My favorite thing so far is to just go into free exploration and do the little beacon missions scattered around the area. AI might not be the smartest but it is still an early build and it is still fun to blast them. Not so crazy about those giant floating orbs though. I love seeing a group of Fallen and Hive going at it and just jumping in the middle with my Hand Cannon and tossing out a Nova Bomb right in the middle of them all.

I love Titan Bombing bitches, it's an easy multi-kill. I'm starting to know how to use Titan Bomb in a combo more effectively.
