Hitbox Review

@K0rN_b4LL Not to my knowledge. I believe all you can do for PS4/XB1 is padhacking/custom builds.

The PS360+ with latest firmware can work on PS4 for 8 minutes at a time, but the Akishop team hasn't figured out how to get over bluetooth authentication short of sticking a bluetooth module in there.

I've had my multi-console Hitbox for about two weeks now. I'd previously played pad mostly for SC and stick for 2d fighters. I wanted to buy a HB because I was finding my mobility and execution was a bit sporadic with 2d fighters. I wasn't expecting to use it much for SC because I felt quite happy with my execution on pad. However, I do like the way SC plays with the HB, but I'd say it's just different rather than better.

I really like the extra mobility that the directional buttons give you. Dashes and sidesteps come out very quick. The one thing I am struggling to do is 214214 motions. The quick transition from my left middle finger to ring finger feels stiff and jerky. Shawn Huffer kindly advised me that this is perfectly normal, and that it's just a case of building strength in the ring finger. It still feels awkward after 2 weeks of practice, but I have noticed some minor improvements.

I found the tutorial videos on the website really useful. Particularly the CE short cuts for SC and the 360 motions for SF4.

Build quality is fine, no cracks in the finish. Some people have reported that there isn't enough space to rest your wrists, however, I haven't experienced this problem (I'd say I have average sized hands).

The final price when including shipping and taxes to the UK was £208.03. That includes the price of the HB, shipping, transaction fee, import tax and handling fee. So, obviously not cheap. I'm fairly happy with my purchase, but if you're not sure about shelling out all that money I recommend trying out a friend's if you can.

My conclusion is the same as a lot of other people; not necessarily better, just different.

@Phil O Didn't see your Hitbox last week. I mad a custom one so it would be cheaper... still worked out to about £150 but can work on 360 and PS3.

I decided not to bring the hitbox to the tournament just because I'm still learning it. Not that using my usual pad made any difference to me getting bodied lol.

I saw your custom sitting on the sofa. It looked pretty space aged.
