Game of Thrones CAS

WeCanEatCereal

[06] Combatant
Hello, I've created a few ASOIAF themed characters and I thought I'd make an account and share them here. These are mostly based on the books, but with some show influence. As a general rule, I only made characters that could actually fight, although I've probably broken it a few times. I'm pretty new at this (these are my first batch of creations really) so any feedback/criticism is welcome. Also if you have any Game of Thrones themed characters of your own feel free to post them here, I'd love to see them. First up is house Stark

Ned:
This interpretation is based of of Viserys' stories to Daenerys about the young Ice Lord who helped Robert depose their father.

Robb:
Zwei style for Greywind.

Arya:
In her house of black and white outfit. Well on her way to becoming a faceless assassin. I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.
Mercy.png

Lyanna:
I'm a strong believer that Lyanna was the knight of the laughing tree, so I gave her armor.
Lyanna.png

Jon Snow:
Not sure about those boots. I gave him Zwei style of course.
Jon.png

That's enough for now. In a little while I will post the Lannisters!

In the words of the beloved King Robert, "I'm surrounded by Lannisters!"

Jaime:
I've kept the Eastern style armor that the Lannisters had in the show. I wouldn't get many other opportunities to use it otherwise.

Tywin:

Tyrion:
Tyrion is described as a Gargoyle during the battle of Blackwater. I know he should have an axe, but I love this pose.
Demon of Blackwater.png

I've also taken a look around at some of the CAS threads on this forum. I'm really impressed with the amount of detail that goes into a lot of the creations here. I updated some of the Starks based on what I saw. I hope they look a little less flat.

Robb 2.0:

Jon 2.0:

I'll add the Baratheons next. If you have any characters you'd like to see I'll add those too.

"Ours is the Fury"

Robert:
In his prime. Before the drinking.

Renly:
"A man without friends is a man without power." Renly would have been the perfect king.
Renly.png
Renly2.png

Stannis:
I tried to replicate his armor from the show, but I ran out of stickers. I'm still pretty happy with the result.

Later I'll add Barriston, Brienne and the Hound.

Welcome to 8WR, @WeCanEatCereal! I'm the CaS forum moderator, so feel free to ask me any questions. These are really, really good. Very fresh character designs based on the books. That Renly in particular is awesome. Great burning heart on Stannis too. A couple suggestions: try darkening the chain mail pattern on Stannis's shirt. The color contrast will help the chest plates stand out. Also, don't limit yourself to heavy armor. You can turn plain cloth into armor by using shiny, bump mapped stickers, especially the star sticker. Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks so much for the compliments, Here is Stannis with darker chainmail.

I'd also love to add more detail to him but the sticker limit is very strict. Is there an example character I could look at that uses the shiny stickers? I'd like to see how that is pulled off. I am trying to create some more armors from cloth as I did with Stannis, so that trick would definitely be helpful. I've been looking through your creation thread (all awesome) and I think my very favorite one of yours is Saskia. I'm not really sure how you made her shirt though. Is her collar made of wings? You've inspired me to post some of my Witcher characters so here is Phillipa Eilhart (should have just called this thread my creations or something... oops).

I'm really happy with how she turned out, although I don't like how pink the stripes on her torso are. That was as red as I could make them for some reason.

I know nothing of Game of Thrones(nor am I interested in it), but all of these are nice to look at. Stannis stands out to me because I never thought of this idea. The lady with red and black striped dress also wows me. They are ideas I really want to steal for my own. Nicely done I must say.

I absolutely love Lyanna's design, but it could use a little spice. Some subtle metallic stickers to make the shoulder pads stand out. The waist cloth could also use some touching up. Unless she's meant to look the part, then disregard my critique since I know nothing of Game of Thrones character designs.

All in all, you're off to a good start.

Thanks Yoshi for your compliments and criticisms. You were completely right about Lyanna, I've updated her with some stickers and a color change.

Brienne:
Not sure about the Hilde style, but I had way too many Mitsurigis.
Brienne.png

Barriston:
"Here boy! Melt it down and put it with the others."
Barristan.png
Barriston3.png

The Hound:
I realized when updating this that this picture is a little outdated, I have since darkened the undershirt and belt but I didn't want to turn the ps3 back on so here he is. I generally really like how he turned out. The chest piece with the dirt texture really works well.

I'm not sure who I'll add next, please tell me who you'd like to see! I actually have plenty more GOT creations saved, I just have to take pictures of them all and update them with some of the things I've learned while looking at these forums.
EDIT: I attached an obligatory picture of the Mountain because I uploaded the hound. He is super simple.

Here come the Greyjoys! This is my very favorite house in the books.

Asha: I'm very happy with how she turned out, I love the leather texture underneath the green jacket. That's supposed to be a Kraken symbol on the back of the jacket.

Theon: Another good looking Greyjoy!
Theon.png

I'll post Victarion and Euron later, hopefully I will finish Balon as well.

Well nearly a year later I've made many more GOT characters and improved plenty of my old ones. Not sure why I stopped uploading these, and I'm not sure why I'm coming back now either. Looks like I left off with the Greyjoys so I guess I'll start with them.

Balon Greyjoy:
"No man gives me a crown."
Balon.png

Euron Crow's Eye:
I really hope Euron is hiding a sharingan behind his eye-patch, not that he needs it.
Euron.png

Euron2.png

Victarion Greyjoy:
All of this guy's chapters are total winners IMO. I couldn't find a way to recreate his magma arm unfortunately.
Victarion.png

Victarion2.png

I forgot to take a picture of the Kraken sigil on his cloak, but it wasn't very good anyway. I'm going to upload the rest of them here over the next few days whether or not anybody sees them, but feedback would be appreciated!

Here come some Arryns, Tullys, Tyrells and Martells. These are houses I only made one or two characters for.
Jon Arryn:
Obviously we don't see much of this guy, but I imagine he was a badass back in his day. I really like how the helmet turned out.
Arryn3.png

Arryn2.png

Arryn.png

Hoster Tully:
Another character who is too old to impact the story. Oh well, we'll just have to imagine him in his prime.
Hoster2.png

BlackFish:
Yeah Hoster turned out better.
Blackfish_1.png

Loras Tyrell:
This guy went through about five iterations but I'm happy with how he eventually turned out.
Loras.png

Loras2.png

Mace Tyrell:
OK I might have gone overboard on this guy.
Mace2.png

Mace.png

Oberyn Martell:
I had an iteration of him with leather armor to match his book description, but this version looked much better.
Oberyn.png

Nym:
And one sand snake just for fun.
Nym.png

If I ever make Areoh Hotah I'll upload him too.

OK that's it for those houses, next up are the Targaryens.

OK! here are the Targaryens
Aegon Targaryen:
This was loosely based on the images of Aegon from the WOIAF book.
Aegon.png

Rhaenys Targaryen:
For These next two I have a confession to make. About 4 months ago I found this thread. http://8wayrun.com/threads/a-soul-of-ice-and-fire.14486/page-2 When I tried to create my own version of Rhaenys and Visenya I was pretty obviously inspired by Sophi Chan's version of those characters. There are a bunch of other great creations on that thread so go check it out.
Rhaenys.png

Rhaenys2.png

Rhaenys3.png

Visenya Targaryen:
Like Sophi Chan's but not quite as good.
Visenya.png

Rhaegar Targaryen:
This is one of my favorite creations. The helmet is supposed to be a three headed dragon for anyone unfamiliar with the book. I haven't unlocked the dragon sticker, or I would have used it on his cloak.
Rhaegar.png

Rhaegar2.png

Rhaegar3.png

Bloodraven:
Last and least. I tried forever to make this guy look cool but It never really clicked.
Bloodraven.png

Daenerys Targaryen:
I said somewhere in this thread that I don't create characters who can't fight, and Dany cannot fight (although Barristan should really teach her) So yeah I broke the rule, and its not that great a creation either, so that's a double sin. Please forgive me.
Dany2.png

Drogo:
I didn't make any other characters from Essos so I'm gonna put the big guy here. This one is based more off of show Drogo.
Drogo.png

Drogo2.png

I might make (f)Aegon and Jon Connington later, but I don't really have any ideas for them at the moment.

All excellent, as usual. Especially that Drogo. Great work with his arm tattoos. And all of Jon Arryn. That one is really spiffy.

Shouldn't Loras Tyrell have some random flower SpecEq stuck in his armor? Euron's design is rather campy. Maybe tone down the saturation and go more vampire than Village People?

The ASOIAF wiki has tons of reference pictures if you're looking for inspiration. I haven't read that far in the books yet, but it looks like all you gotta do for Jon Connington is lots of red and fur. Maybe a greyscale hand or something. I don't know about "(f)Aegon," but just throw on some scale male, rubies, and dragon paraphernalia and call it day?

There are a lot of other visually distinctive characters which I think you'd be able to pull off. Like Beric Dondarrion, the fire knight who's died and revived a million times. Or Lady Stoneheart, a zombie-sorceress hybrid. Or any of the swamp dwelling Reeds. Maybe Vargo Hoat, the Goat. Ooh maybe the white walker king.
