You know I'd completely forgotten about that! It's a good point, and actually makes a lot of sense. Winterfell being close to the Wall, and the Wall being all mysterious and magical I could easily imagine there being dragons nearby. Plus we know Targaryens did visit, on dragonback, so maybe they left some eggs lying around?

Agreed on the Dany thing, particularly where I am now with the Slaver's Bay bit, though she's just ordered them to close the gates of Meereen so, the bitch is back?

Stannis is like Westoros' Batman. The king it needs, not the one it deserves.

I would like to agree on the Stannis thing, but my loyalty to Daenerys makes me bite my tongue. You will probably gouge your eyes out by the second to last Daenerys chapter. The gates of Meereen being closed may be more like her old self, but she turns into a stupid girl all of a sudden and does something drastic. Albeit, to save something.

Does she fly off and a dragon and have mentalist rainbow adventures? That's what I'm guessing.

I won't confirm the first bit, but she doesn't have rainbow adventures. Something that has been sort of implied throughout the series is kind of confirmed. Daenerys can be burned, the fact she survived the pyre in GoT was a miracle. I'll stop there.

I'm guessing Dragonfire, or something Valyria related. I didn't think it possible to be more excited about this book, but here we have it. Shame about the rainbow adventures though. Perhaps that's Bran's job.

Still put off that they seem to be cutting the Reeds out of the show. Granted they're a bit redundant at this point in the books, but still. I have a soft spot for the 'Little Grandfather.'

I think Osha could serve the Reeds' purpose to an extent, but that would mean Rickon would not go to Skagos with her, as they do in the books. With the Dany thing, she gets some burns from her "child."

I have an hour and a half of bus ride coming up. Gods be damned if I won't catch up soon!

And yeah, Osha/Bran, with him having Jojen's green dreams and such. A shame because I was looking forward to seeing them, but oh well. The way I see it, with the show going in such a different direction now, we can't compare it too much to the books. Just sit back and enjoy I suppose.

Yeah. I'm half enjoying the surprises and half hating them. That's what I get for being a book purist when it comes to Daenerys, Robb, and Theon.

Agreed. Love to know who this Volantene girl is, but time will tell possibly. Second book of DwD for me now!

I'm expecting it to be Jeyne Westerling in disguise, so when Robb decides to go to the Westerlands in the show, she can just show up at the Crag and be like, "So you were right. I am a noble lady. The name's Jeyne Westerling. Let's get married!!"
WindupSkeleton
WindupSkeleton
That would be... Something. Assuming they're even KEEPING Jeyne W in. They seem adamant to omit as many people as possible. And they changed Asha's name because it was too similar to Osha. I really hope the add The future Young She-Wolf though. I wanted to see plain Jeyne and the Knight of Seashells. Because that's an amazing band name if naught else.

I just watched tonight's episode. "Lady Talisa" is Jeyne. She was afraid to go to the Crag and insisted that Robb just give a "list of supplies" to the Crag's maester. Also, it seems the Cat and Jaime encounter is going to be omitted for tits next episode. Just assuming though. Also, why the hell can't Daenerys move her story along?

Haven't seen it yet so I had to stop reading. Shall get back in a few hours!

Because the writers like to stall with Dany because she's the most interesting?

It's not even ADwD, so why do they need her to sit in one place undecided. She's not going to sit on some mahogany throne to talk about her being a young girl, she's doing nothing about her dragons, and she decided to conveniently leave her babies with Irri and a few Unsullied? As to why she needs to move the hell on, it is known (RIP Irri)

I'm thinking it's just to build suspense. Blackwater is coming up and that took a huge percent of their budget, so everyone else get's the just sit around and not do much.

It IS known. (I hate that she's dead. Balls to this.)

Irri dies, but Doreah lives. I'm hoping for UnIrri (like Lady Stoneheart) in the show, who will appear in the season for TWoW and she is a wight now. And she says "It is known" when she kills.

Doreah should've died, back in the Red Waste. Albeit mostly because their little cat-fight about Rakharo was amusing.

UnIrri would be AMAZING. But until then I'm hoping they get Beric right. All caved-in head and everything.

Yeah, I'll be disappointed if he's normal looking.
