    Here's a kooky idea: try playing Tira and Dampierre for a week. If you can handle their random failures in mid-battle, maybe you could handle losing better?

    It's contradictory, I know. I think you'd do better to ignore the baby steps and just apply force to yourself. Run around challenging everyone you know that fights 'dirty' and such and don't let yourself RQ until you can come back and defeat them consistently.

    Yeah, breaks can make a world of a difference. SCV has to be the most rage inducing game I've ever played. Dark Souls doesn't even make me this annoyed. It's not even that I'm losing, the system mechanics just make me rage. Lol

    Haha, it's ok, I didn't mean right now. I'm away from my 360 anyways. My strats consist of spamming basic combos with Taka Arashi, so s'all good :P

    It turned out that while Patroklos's damage was pretty bonkers, I could get the low damage more often as Leixia. In addition, I have more setups and tricks as Leixia, and each one is more reliable than any one setup I have as Pat. So far, anyways. I'm still learning Pat.

    I'm going to take a break from this game too. I hate it too much to improve anymore. Might be one week, might be two. Don't know yet.

    And one other thing. If there is no news of patch 1.04 by the time I return, I will organize a project to create an open source Soul Calibur clone. If so many people are so discontent with this game, mayhaps the community can do it better.

    This game is completely driven on bullshit. And I can't stand it anymore. I do have a scrub mentality, but I can't shake it off knowing that the game is so driven on bullshit. And whoever's bullshit is easier to pull off or more effective, well, they win.

    Nah brah, it's just something you've got to get over. Literally the only things Leixia doesn't have going for her are damage and range. You let yourself fall into a scrub mentality and that's really all there is to it. It's better if you prove me wrong, but I just don't see that happening.

    I'll remind you though I play every character, I know Leixia's shortcomings well :P

    Wandrian, you're pretty insistent that I've made the wrong decision. Slade is too, in his own unique way. It doesn't matter though. Whether I find myself a new, better main, or come to the realization that Leixia was better for me all along, I'm going to be a better player for it either way. Let me have my scrub mentality. Words aren't going to overcome it.

    It's all how you're thinking about things. One way or another, you're just not really *REALLY* thinking clearly in a match and so you're not using a tenth the potential of Leixia(or any other character for that matter). The work you've put into learning your character is very much evident, it's just the fundamentals behind it that's holding you back. I'd know, I have the same problem(amongst others).

    I'm trying to talk with my counselor about it. Sometimes, I feel like I'm falling short of my own expectations, and other times, I feel like the game is slighting me in such a way that I can't live up to my expectations even if I'm playing well enough to.

    Yeah, that's like what I was saying last week. It's definitely more than lolSpamurugi. I'm only an armchair psychiatrist, but it's like some kind of immaturity thing. Like, be realistic and shit. Not pessimistic or blindly hoping for the best, just try to separate emotions from your problem solving process.

    Frustrated? Figure a way to keep your cool first, then solve the rest of the problem. One thing at a time.

    And here's a start: send an FR to Hyrul. His GT is "Homicidmus" Assuming he has the time lol.

    If you can keep a cool head and still find the time to figure out a strategy against someone like that...

    Well Astaroth is hard for everybody....so it's not just you who struggles with him tiz if anyone who doesn't use alpha and says astaroth is easy to handle than...HA! there lying to themselves...

    Astaroth pisses me off. Him being on the screen is a 50/50 mix up... His entirety is a 50/50 mix up. >.<

    The main reason I dislike astaroth other than his 50/50's is that he is probably the easiest character to use but very effective and both fields of play..low level and high level play.

    You're only as good/bad as your last match. No reason to stress over a loss. Just run it back next game.

    I feel rugi has a 6:4 matchup favor against every char in the game or even better...but mandy is right tiz....um viola and nightmare both have a good chance of beating him.

    She won't have the versatility of three characters, because those characters are better at the things I pointed out. And besides, I think you're not really using the word right anyways. Sure, she IS versatile due to her safety, speed, evasion, and range. But her damage deficiency overcompensates for her strengths, in turn putting her on the weaker side.

    Back on topic - Lei damage buffs aren't a bad thing - but she sure as hell doesn't need a big one. As warui said, she has a lot of good qualities. Too significant a change would make her far too good.

    On this, I can definitely agree. Like I said, her damage deficiency overcompesates for her strengths, and I don't mind continuing to do less damage than the rest of the cast as long as I don't feel like I have to do twice the work of the rest of the cast. I agree that a dramatic damage increase would make her OP.

    ^ What this dude is trying to say is that go in training mode and practice against the moves that you had the most trouble with while fighting those baddies. See if you can find any way to counter the move as in quick-stepping or crouch and punish. Don't hate the game, hate the player.

    I took a break from SCV for a week, so I don't know just yet. I did do a little better at Arcade Legacy's Fight Night than I usually do, though, and that was with no warmup.
