Lol, things are alittle gloomy and wet over here in Calgary. Is it better over there in Edmonton? Anyway, I was wanting to try pc gaming for the longest time. But my parents disapprove of me gaming in the first place e__e They're like girls aren't supposed to game that much. Do your uni hw.

So I want to game on my laptop, since they'll think I'm writing or drawing on photoshop (my back is to the wall with my desk's positioning). But I don't know if my laptop can handle it. Most ppl say it's not good to game on a laptop so I was wondering how can I check if my laptop can handle it.

generally its not good to game on a laptop, true, but if your laptop is decent enough, so long as you dont crank your settings, you'll be all right. in order to game on your laptop, you'll need to check your specs and compare them to the system requirements of the games you want to play(certain games are more intensive to play than others) but generally...

i would reccomend AT LEAST a dual core 2.0+GHz processor(preferebly quad core 2.0GHz+) with at least 8GB of ram, and at least AMD integrated graphics(though integrated graphics are really bad, AMD's can handle most games at minimum settings) to check your specs...

click the start menu, right click "computer" and go "properties". it should tell you your processor speed and how much ram you have. give those back to me and i'll tell you how well you can expect to run games ^-^

if you tell me your processor name i can probably tell you how many cores you have if you're unsure. also to figure out if you have a graphics card or not, click the start menu, go to control panel, click hardware and sound, click device manager, then click display adapters and tell me what you see. then i'll tell you if its integrated or dedicated unless it tells you there. ^-^

ok so your processor is a dual core processor(i have the same processor in my old laptop =D) you'll probably have amd integrated graphics. with that computer, i doubt you will be able to run any demanding modern games. however you will be able to run things like:

Slayer_X64
emulators
older games
you'll probably be able to play morrowind
you'll be able to play oblivion on low-med settings
you'll be able to play skyrim probably on low - might have to fiddle with it a bit though.
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
you'll be able to do some lightweight gaming. it wont look pretty but it is possible. though say if you wanted to play an intensive game like, battlefield, or the like, you would have to get something stronger.

I was thinking of getting Dragon Age and Last Remnants. Do you think it'll work? :D
My DAO disc was bought used so it had issues lol. And so I really wanted to play it on my laptop :)

in anycase i could actually probably recommend quite a few games to you that i know you could play. they're mostly older stuff, but thats because i really like the older stuff lol. would you like me to drop something in your inbox?

Yes please! Especially if it's a really good RPG <3 Thank you Slayer!

you would probably be able to play both games on there, although you may have to lower the settings a bit. i say give it a try on minimum settings, see if its playable, and try to work with what you got from there when it comes to tweaking the settings, though i dont think you'd get above low-mid at best.

alright, well tomorrow when i get home from golf, ill drop a GIANT list of games your computer can run in the inbox(most of them i have played and/or still do play)

How do you lower settings? I'm sorry, I'm really dumb at this kinda of stuff (>T.T)
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
oh well when you go to start up the game, you'll normally come to a launcher screen where it says things like "play game" followed by "options" or "settings". you would go into those tabs and adjust the graphics settings down to the minimum(some games might even have a minimum preset) some newer games will even preset the settings for you(like skyrim)
Slayer_X64
Slayer_X64
but if those arent there, you can also always set the settings in the "options" part of the pause menu in most games.
