probly both, xiba is a gimmick character. So if he is falling for the gimmicks then he will lose quickly like that. Gimmicks 3b-k (duck the k),3ab(duck the b),JG all 6bk 6ak,aak(duck the 2nd a, or punish the k on block (-16),some characters can hop rem up close.

If you know all xiba's gimmicks then i would say the tough part about the MU is the fact that xiba can really mess up hilde for stepping with 6a or aa. His hori meds out speed hers and out range hers. But she has the damage advantage. If xiba can consistently keep hilde out he wins. But if hilde can get inside she will really hurt him cause at point blank range her normals are faster.

I think that's his main problem right there - He doesn't duck enough. He's still of the mindset that a good GI is all you need, and while that's got some merit, it's been a good way to teach him that it isn't true.. I wasn't aware that aak's k was -16 on block though, I had it down as -14 for some reason?

Another thing, he wants to know HOW to mess me up close range. I was trying to teach him how to effectively use her good pokes and spacing by trying to get in, and 99% of the time I was merely able to 6k on into his comfort zone and whack him up and down.

When he asked me for tips I said "Play Mitsu" :P I don't know Hilde too well myself but I want him to feel confident and improve with his chosen character so, yeah.

Thanks for the answers though - I told him there was a way around everything but he's not taking MY word for it.
