Train delayed. Connecting bus late. Obnoxious policy that closes off boarding 30 minutes before the departure (American Airlines... Southwest doesn't do that. Flight missed, no other flights would let me make it to the tournament.

Transferred to a morning flight anyway, but on standby. It gets cancelled. Call customer service for refund. Choose callback feature. They don't call back. Try again. They don't give me a refund because I wasn't technically on the flight. Whine about it, still simply not possible.

Callback feature kicks in. Might as well try again. And... it's a miracle! A refund was possible after all!

Might as well elaborate on the train fight. The homeless man was trying to use the train as a means of escape from some extremely upset African Americans. He took a seat in the back corner behind a father and his 8-9 year old daughter. I was sitting further up, but right in front of the entrance the hoodlums used.

When they burst in, one guy chased the homeless old (white?) dude toward the back of the train (ok he wasn't in the back at first) and the father stood up and put his arm between them and yelled "Take this outside, my daughter is here!" and then he lifts her up by her armpits and stands blocking the walkway.

Wow, the plot thickens. Is the homeless man ok?

The guy chasing him hesitates in the face of this impenetrable little girl shield. His buddy, at the time straddling the doorway in front of me to prevent the doors from closing, so they could escape if needed, began yelling in my face, (at the father guy...) "THIS NIGGA PULLED A KNIFE, WE GOTTA DEAL WITH THIS NIGGA"
