SCV was only on track in the improved CAS system and it's online play (including the Colosseum concept, which was awesome, though a bit short sighted). Sure, the balance was good, the stepping felt right, but the core changes to GI and inclusion of supers was just unforgivable and out of place...
It's about time! I am officially back to neutral status with Namco now :P
A couple? Beyond that they have always had a rivalry of sorts and their art goes well together? No.
SCLS still seems to be some sort of what-if megamix of Soul for the masses who like ... single player fighting games...
I've always said that in today's world, a great story gets a player interested in the game, great gameplay keeps them coming back.
Sadly, SCV has easily the worst story elements the series ever had. As for the gameplay... well its good at doing what it set out to, cater to people who don't like...
SC6 talk... guess it's reason enough to chime in... especially with E3 behind us and absolutely no proof of it's existence.
Firstly... Soulcalibur Army of Darkness... really people? Harada had to be just trollin. He probably had recently watched the movie and we know he likes chainsaws...
This series went from having the very best story in all of fighting games (and was amazing among stories in general) to one of the worst, convoluted, bastardized, stereotypical, and flat out idiotic works of crap put on a disc. The writers should be ashamed of themselves. They originally had...
I have to agree, if we get SCVI and it is a complete game, this stop-gap installment would have been worth it. But if the series ends here, without a shot at redemption, is just wrong.
I'm sure by this point the call has already been made to continue the series or not. I'm betting they will...
Gameplay wise, Taki's movset is as good as ever. In some ways better, some worse. Not a fan of the PO A:6 JF garbage needed for most combos. But dealing without it.
As for the apprentice herself, she is utter shit. Annoying, ditzy, flat out stupid even. The press on nails don't help either...
Just because it can be done in game doesn't make an excuse for it not being there. Negative point awarded for negligence. I would extend this to the lack of SCIV's pre character select screen, controller select screen. That was simply a genius idea and SCIV was the first to have it...
Hey! On behalf of all Taki "cry babies" we could give a rats ass about Kilik. While we may understand Kilik's fan's rage, they still need to go form their own union. Obviously Namco cares less about them anyway. "Ill fated character" remember?
Taki? Well, she's alive during the time of this...
Aeon, with dual axe style, WTF happened to Bangoo? That was HIS proposed style. Gah... At least this is the REAL Lizardman.
Xiba - Again, a pretty unworthy replacement for Kilik, and honestly, I hated Kilik (I will always stand by the fact that he is originally a Mina clone). Not the travesty...
Well two zones or more for underwear would be one thing, it still seems like its SCIV's all or nothing deal. Belts should have been separated from pants (or tops in the case of the leather tunic) so you can mix and match. Material edits would have been the icing on the cake (change surface type...
Yes, yes, we know WC, you are perfectly happy with yesterday's graphic quality (and knock off characters it seems). But you know damn well that cutting edge graphics sell games. More sales = more players = more competition = reason to use that oh so important gameplay. Don't blindly stick up for...
Well, now that we can clearly see that Natsu is nothing more than a Taki clone (that has some of her old abilities mixed with her older abilities...). Taki's return is all the more difficult for she will need a truly evolved style. Otherwise the whole clone drama is going to start up again and...
