I think when they sold enough to make a Season 2 it also secured a sequel. Probably a same budget sequel, but a sequel none the less. And the fact that most of the story in the last DLC was setting up a sequel reiterated that.
They very clearly do not. They haven't touched the game since early December.

On a technical level the method needed for doing faces would have absolutely nothing in common with how body parts are done outside of being controlled by a slider.
Yeah, my overall feeling with the new story content is that they're setting up for something way out of their budget. Cause you can't set up an evil hierarchy like that and have all of them be portraits and old CaS.
The Hwang announcement on the Bandai Namco EU page says Hwang is the last DLC character for Soulcalibur 6.
