Well, after playing Cervantes since release I'm ready to say he is garbage in this game.

Characters such as Kilik and Seong Mina out damaging him with half execution restrictions.
Horizontal/Vertical moves whiffing at point blank.

He is fun. There are definitely stronger characters in the game right now but he is quite viable nevertheless. Most of his tools have been nerfed but he is still really good.
I noticed he doesn't have one right in the beginning but he might got one but first needs to be unlocked. I'd guess you could have to play Ivy's first in order to unlock his. I might be wrong though.
True, they are both safe, but one is high and the other has a wonky hitbox that gets messy in some certain distances and angles.
Ultimately, all three options can be beat after A+B which was my initial point.
A+B sure has problems outside of the GI game:
1. DC lacks a low option for a mixup game. Meaning that standing there will just beat all options and DC 6 is not enough to call it a mixup.
2. The followup DC options after block can easily be interrupted by quick moves.

Sorry for the double post but I think is worth mentioning that kA has awesome juggle properties. Here's some recently baked combos I managed to figure out:
3B, kA, 1B, 3B = 78-84 dmg depending on angle of impact.
44A+B, 8A+B, 8A+B, kA, 1B, 3B = 96 dmg
44[A+B], 8A+B, 8A+B, kA, 1B, 3B = 116 dmg...
Not just 8A+B but any connected 12th shot within Cervantes' movelist will flash indicating the B2 Lethal Hit notification.
On another note, I wonder if using 1[ B ] after round over will count towards it. That would be huge as it gives you 3 shots toward the goal.
I like both. One gives you consistent damage, the other 6 gunshots toward your next B2 lethal which is huge.
Edit: Combo 2 is extremely inconsistent against small hitboxes. Boomer.
Edit2: On another note, what are you guys going for after 2A+B lethal hit?

2A+B !LH...
While 1[ B ] stacks 3 gunshots toward your next B2 lethal I'd rather go for DC B, BT B+K, 2[B+K] after kA !LH.
I haven't found a place where 1[ B ] could be the best option. Even doing a CE would be considered meter waste as the dmg dampening is already bad by then.

I go for TS. Simple execution, 80+ damage. And yeah I love TS since SC3 haha. I will always embrace it. I'm just sad they changed the command in 6.

I've been getting away with rushing down. I've come across a few RE spammers here and there but is not really a big deal as they often play in patterns, enough for you to punish them accordingly. Trust me, a simple A+B !LH TS for 80+ damage is really good, or you could just bait them and...
Could be but considering iGDR has a faster startup than either move I would think they might not be guaranteed.
I myself wonder if 8B+K tech catches after BT B+K. If that would be the case then I might replace the last iGDR for it.
That sums pretty much what I've said about his old/new DC games.
SCII - DC A~G BT JF mixups.
SCIII - DC 2A, iTS, iGDR, etc.
SCIV - meh.
SCV - Almost useless.
SCIII's DC was the definite best for him imo. SCII's was decent with the BT JFs.
8A+B cant hit on point-blank range otherwise it will leave you backturned, but it also depends on angle and hitboxes. But the sure way to avoid being left back turned is to land it from a distance.
