I watched one of his vids once. It was so far above my level, I'll have to just come back to it someday when I'm good enough to understand.

Here's a flame princess. It was a "commission" for my daughter. She asked me to draw her coming out of the lantern on the way to Cedar Point again. I was like, well, that's as good as anything.

Took me like 3 hours, mostly because I was dicking around on sketchbook pro on my galaxy rather than just exporting it and using Sai and my Wacom, which I eventually did. Also, I'm still experimenting with painting and rendering and don't really know what I'm doing. That hair would be impossible in sketchbook.

That program just makes me mad all around. No selection tool, no layer masks or clipping layers or anything useful, just some pretty brushes and that's it. I know people make beautiful art on it, but it's like drawing with my good hand tied behind my back. >:(
 
Wait, you mean the art forum is only for SC related art? That's a bummer. I need to stop being ignorant and read. Makes me wonder why this thread wasn't made sooner.

Anyway, I draw. Went to school for it. I think I suck but I'm told otherwise. I just know I'm not where I want to be in terms of my ability. Anyway, this is what I got on me right now. Feel free to critique the shit out of it. They are just face doodles. Hell yeah for art threads dawg.

You're not bad at art. And as far as I'e been informed, yes, the art forum is only for SC related art.

This is good stuff we got goin' here guys
 
before anatomy, I'd advise you to study proportions. shape, foreshortening and lines. I want to see more construction! also, review your work, find its mistakes. write them on the paper/screen, draw on/over it so you can see the correction. draw it again with corrections in place. repeat until you have it looking like the photo.

there's your homework.

Here's what I've been working on. About 2.5 hrs from a photo ref.

I tried to texture the fur with the Onta hair brush and the water tool. Not really satisfied with how it turned out though. Anyone have any tips on fur?
