Custom Costumes & Characters Thread

This thread is for posting custom characters or costumes that you made in any game.

I really enjoy the CaS formulas forum, but I also want to show some custom characters and costumes that I made in other games.

To start things off, here are some costumes I tried to recreate in Tekken Tag 2.

Kunimitsu's Tekken 2 costume:

those pictures are upside down
That happens with my iPod pictures sometimes. I don't know when or why it happens. They were right side up the last time I looked. I'll try to fix it or repost them a different way sometime.

Nice costumes for Violet! Your third and fourth costumes for him are my favorite.

I think the possibilities of placing lots of images is where Tekken Tag 2's customization really shines. Hopefully they can improve the customization overall in future Tekken games.

What other games do you like to customize characters in?
SoulCalibur 5 and Tekken Tag 2 are my favorites, but I also tried Mii Maker, Little Big Planet, and Modnation Racers.

Thanks. Yeah, decals are what make customizations in TTT2 worth while. I think this method is way better than SCV's sticker placement. All it needs to be perfect is:

1. Give more control over the coloring of the images themselves. It seems to use some sort of hue filter on top, making some images not as useful as others. As it stands, the images that are pitch while are most useful. That's one part that I like better in SCV.

2. When placing a decal, add move Z-axis, rotate Z-axis, and scale Z-axis. This would give the user complete control over how a decal is placed and allow for things currently not possible. For example, put 1 decal on both the front and back of something, like you could on both left and right sides.

3. Add an option to place a decal using a cylindrical projection, so it can wrap around an arm or a leg evenly. Stretching a decal out over a limb currently smears the image on one or more sides.

4. I really hate how they put a cap on how many decals you can make. There should be enough slots to make 4 new decals for every custom slot for every character.

5. If possible increase the number of decal slots used for 1 custom from 4 to 6.

TTT2 and SCV are the only creations games I have. I'd love try WWE '14 creation though. Some of the stuff I see on VGCW looks awesome. I guess if I make something cool in Dark Souls 2 when I get it I could post it lol.

Will post some more later.

Just a heads up, the Customization in TTT2 is 90% using decals. The parts selection is pretty bad. Head, Upper Half, Lower Half. Then two wacky extra items. Then again, the game is super cheap now I think.

You did great with Hworang and Paul. I see you've gotten very used to the decal system. I'm still learning to aim decals better in different directions instead of just front and back.

Yeah, there are a lot of times where that's necessary, like with that King custom. The pinstripes/collar are 1 decal projected from top down.

I just made a Mii of Kunimitsu from Tekken 2 and put her in Tomodachi Life.

My favorite armor combination.

Here's using the circle tattoo to create sort of a black unitard effect:

As you can see, it covers up all the exposed skin and makes many of the pieces more usable. (If you hate exposed skin).

Nice!
Lately, I've been trying the Wii U version of Tekken Tag 2. Instead of decals, it uses a paint mode where you simply draw on the characters using the gamepad. There are a couple drawbacks though. The drawings can only be used offline and you can only draw on one side/surface of each character.

Really? I thought that the drawing mode would have been either A)draw a decal and place it like normal, or B)draw all over the model like in mudbox/maya etc. Really sucks you can't use it online, since there's already a bunch of vulgar stuff made with regular decals.

Show off your customs when they're done though!

Here are a few costumes I tried to make using the paint mode on the Wii U version.

Hahaha! That Pac-man looks like the version from Tails Gets Trolled, if you don't mind me saying so. Brought a big smile to my face. Good job. That Sonic is out of this world too. Too bad online people can't see it, I bet you'd get some interesting reactions.
