Yeah Im really excited about the DLC. People are saying there's gonna be a season pass with it. I hope so.
Kinda weird they're releasing it in 3 parts though IMO. But either way, I do love the game, so I'll be getting the DLC...

Oh wait it totally does work on pc, just not on the character I was trying for some reason. Other character worked fine.

Because you had already opened the chest. The gift doesn't close the chest, just replaces the soul vessel.

No, it resets the chest. Starting a new character just just means it can't be reset.
