8WAYRUN has a very unique event planning system that was written from the ground up. Adding an event, or even just a video stream is very simple. Any event created through the event system will permit users to RSVP for your event, as well as post comments to that event. As well, any event with a live stream will automatically get featured on the front page of 8WAYRUN.

First you must start the process in adding an event. This button can be found on either the Tournament Announcements forum, or on the calendar which you can get to by clicking on the "Events" tab. If you click this button from the forums, the next form will automatically check the "Create Event Thread" feature. If you click this button from the "Events" tab, it will not.

You will then be forwarded to the form for creating an event.
    • Event Title:
This is simple, the title of your event. I can not stress enough how important it is that you DO NOT include any information in this field besides the actual title of your event (and possibly games or pot bonuses). Date and location information will be automatically added to the title when your event thread is created.
    • Event Desciption:
If you are planning on selecting the option to "Create Event Thread", the contents of this text box will be considered as the first post in the thread; otherwise it will simply be used as the basic information for your event.

    • Venue, Address, City, State, Zip:
These fields should be self explanatory. You can choose to leave the address/city/state/zip fields blank, and the system will handle it accordingly. However, the venue is still required... but you can put anything there, even "Xbox Live" or "Playstation Network" if you so choose. The fields address/city/state/zip will also automatically populate the Google Map below it; so before you submit, make sure it's accurate.

    • Start/End Time, Time zone:
An event can be set for any future date, with a minimum length of 2 hours and a maximum length of 120 hours (5 days).
    • Stream URL:
    REMOVED.

    • Recur This Event:
An event that is marked as recurring will automatically have future iterations of the event posted on the calendar. All iterations of the event will share a single event thread (should you choose to make an event thread). The RSVPs for the event will automatically get wiped out after each iteration of the event. Recurrence iterations are automatically calculated at the end of each day.
    • Enable RSVP System:
Enables or disables the use of the build in RSVP system.
    • Create Event Thread:
If you select this option, a thread will automatically get created in the appropriate forum for your event. This is nice because it will allow others to post messages to the event, giving feedback and extended RSVP information.

People who abuse the event system WILL be punished.

    Questions & Answers:
    1. What does it mean that the event is awaiting moderation?
The forum Tournament Announcements is not "moderated," yet the calendar is. This means that the calendar requires approval for anything new to be added to it. When you create a new event with an Event Thread, the thread will be created automatically in Tournament Announcements and be usable right away. The event will not appear in the calendar until one of our awesome mods goes ahead and confirms the event. This is to prevent abuse by people flooding the calendar, or mistakenly setting events for absurd amounts of time.
