In Soulcalibur, these two characters have a similar backstory. They both had murdered their families through the influence of Soul Edge. However, Siegfried is completely useless throughout the entire lore as he loses to the following.

  • Kilik defeated Nightmare in SC1.
  • Raph had a draw with Nightmare in SC2 and gave him a scar on his face (hmmmm, who has had that before?).
  • Nightmare and Siegfried had a draw in SC3 where Siegfried almost died.
  • Siegfried in SC4 finally beat Nightmare, but he could only do it with the power of SoulCalibur.
  • In SC5, Pat beats him up in one of the story missions. Note that in all of these scenarios, the only way he can win is with SoulCalibur's influence and not through his own strength.

Kilik however, has defeated Nightmare and Voldo, but lost to Zasalamel. That is a much better track record than Siegfried. You could also consider that he was trained by one of the most powerful characters in Soulcalibur's lore and has even become and Edgemaster himself as of SCV.

Kilik's friends and family consists of: Maxi, Edgemaster, Xianghua, and Xiba.

Siegfried's friends and family: ZWEI (LOL ADOPTED) and Hilde (LOL SIEG DESTROYED HER KINGDOM AS NIGHTMARE)

As you can see Kilik also has more friends and has had them for much longer.

Kilik also has way better win quotes as he mockingly gives advice to his defeated opponents. Siegfried does mock his opponents, but he also randomly gets emo. Siegfried also kisses boys.

With all that being said, which character is superior story-wise? Choose wisely.

Well in terms of friends:

You forgot Viola as a friend of Sieg, not to mention the fact that he has an entire army subservient to him, so he probably has plenty of friends within his ranks. Whole army > couple of lamos

Kilik defeated NM in SC1 with the help of 2 other people, not to mention the fact that NM was significantly weaker at that point, given the fact that Soul Edge was not complete.

Raph only barely managed a tie with NM, and that was cause Sieg was resisting the influence of SE.

"The harsh truths of Viola's predictions always led to hatred and resentment, so she lived as a nomad, traveling from one city to the next. She refused to follow custom and simply tell her patrons what she knew they wanted to hear. Her own memories were so barren that she couldn't empathize with other people - they didn't even feel real to her.

The one exception was Z.W.E.I. They were kindred spirits, he said, both of them blessed and burdened with inhuman powers that forced them to journey through life alone."

Inability to show empathy to Sieg = Friendship

Nobody else even fought NM in SC3, but it can be assumed that he was more powerful than he was in SC2, given the fact that this is a purer form of NM.

The embodiment of Soul Edge (referenced as Inferno) existed in Soul Edge as well. Didn't work out too well for Inferno.

Siegfried was simply testing Pat in SCV. He wanted to gauge his strength, not harm or kill him. Siegfried could easily defeat Pat in SCV, he tore through armies close to the end of the story.

Kilik has never really done anything without the Kali-Yuga either. Also, Siegfried didn't have SC in SC3, and yet he still managed to tie with Nightmare.

Pat could also defeat armies too. The opening scene in SCV shows him defeating a rebel group. Defeating a group of trained warriors is nothing knew to Kilik either.

Incorrect, Kilik becomes the new edgemaster and can weild all weapons. Siegfried without a sword sounds like a massive baby though.

The only thing Kali Yuga can do is absorb evil and good energy. All it does is alter the wielder's mind.

Forget groups of trained warriors, Siegfried and ZWEI were fighting entire armies.

Pat is pretty powerful, he beat Elysium and Pyrrha O.
