That is a possibility we can't overlook. On the other hand, game creation tools are more accessible than ever before. If SC is to die, the community can make a spiritual successor to the series. But that's a bridge we shouldn't cross until we really have to.

It's really hard to make a 3D fighting game...

 

It's really hard to make games period. So it would be extremely hard to make a 3d fighting game. I'm not saying it wouldn't be hard. I'm just saying that this is an option available to us if SC6 isn't in the cards. It would take a very long time and a great deal of concerted effort.

 

Seeing the effort they put in creating these "outfits", I fear the worst for SCVI (if it came to exist). A fan-game is probably the only savior for the franchise...
