Xander Alondite

Personality: Caring, friendly, and very confident in himself. Always puts the safety of others before himself, and never leaves a man behind in a battle. He has a passion for fighting held by few, and a strong sense of justice that he strictly follows.

Xander had successfully made a decent living for himself after defeating Varoth. He moved to Italy, where he formed a mercenary band called the Blades of Valor. While mostly independent, they occasionally worked together with the Silver Phoenix, sharing contracts and sending warriors to aid each other.

The Alondite, in its reforged state, lost most of its energy over time. It retained a holy aura, and still had some slight purifying effects, but was otherwise a normal sword. Without its full power, Xander had to rely more on his own skill, and trained regularly to make sure his strength didn't degrade.

He commonly took contracts personally rather than just sit around and guide his band. His recent one was suspicious, but he still took it. Investigation of Ostreinsburgh, as presence of dark energy had been reported. When he arrived, there was little more than a Will-of-the-wisp, and he quickly destroyed the unholy creature. When he was preparing to leave the next day, he saw a familiar face. Leandra Scott was also at the city, though she'd lost her copy of Soul Edge. She was apparently looking for someone, but refused to accept help.

While he was worried, Xander understood. Instead of forcing the subject, he offered Leandra a place in the Blades of Valor. She was initially hesitant. Regardless, the two agreed to travel together again, in case they could find anything that might help them both. While they were gone, Leandra mentioned her son Luke, who was at home caring for himself.

When they visited Leandra's home, the Alondite reacted negatively. A burst of holy energy pulsed through the sword, as if a powerful evil had been in the area. He was suspicious, but couldn't see or feel anything that could be a possible threat. Regardless, he remained prepared. The Alondite eventually calmed down, and the evil presence was gone.

He parted ways with Leandra eventually, and returned to Italy to choose the contracts that would be accepted. While he sifted through the letters requesting aid and passed them on to the band's generals, he noticed one from Leandra. Instead of a contract, she had sent a plea of help, saying that her son had gone missing. Xander immediately set off to help her.

When he arrived the next week, he sat down with Leandra and the two spoke of what might have happened. He comforted Leandra to calm her down, and noticed his sword was reacting even more negatively. There was no denying it anymore. Varoth had returned. He told Leandra of his experiences with the mage, about how he'd malfested a kingdom and how Xander fought him and destroyed his copy of Soul Edge.

The two geared themselves for the journey. Xander replaced his old armour with a newly-forged suit often used by demon hunters, and had the Alondite treated with holy water. Leandra did the same, and Xander had bought her a belt of magical bullets for her pistol sword.

They traveled together to Varoth's castle, where they found the wizard in the proccess of stealing the boy's body. His soul was transferred into Luke, and without a soul, his body fell over dead. Luke fell into a coma, but was otherwise unharmed. They got him home and watched him closely.

As time passed, Xander monitored Luke closely. The boy showed signs of budding magic, and the Alondite reacted around him. When he woke up, he showed strange changes in personality. Leandra contacted him after she'd been assaulted by her son, who ran off. Xander knew that he was possessed now.

Leandra joined the Blades of Valor and became their second leader. With Xander, she trained soldiers to become extremely powerful, and the bands followed Luke's path. He moved as if he were searching for something, and eventually found the remains of Varoth's scythe.
Xander and Leandra kept chasing him, finally meeting the possessed boy in the ruins of Ranis Drakan's kingdom. How the battle ended is still unknown.

Koja Tengu

Despite this, he's extremely disciplined and can find his way around a more skilled opponent with relative ease. He may not win, but he believes escaping and surviving to fight another day is better than dying. He can be serious when he needs to, but tries to keep everyone's moods up however he can.

Sariah Sachar

Alignment: Neutral Good

Personality: One of the kindest people you'd be likely to meet. Always tries to avoid unnecessary injury, and refuses to kill unless it's unavoidable. She's extremely faithful and religious, often praying just before or after a fight for both her opponents' and her own well-being.

Sariah originally had no claims to fame or power. She lived as a wandering priestess, giving blessings to those who needed it, and guidance to those who were lost. Her refusal to kill gave her a positive reputation on the roads she traveled, and her faith made her friends believe that the gods were on their side.

Born in a small city in Israel, Sariah first learned of the Soul swords when she was 13. She was inspired to travel and try to find them, as she believed that such power should never be in the hands of men. Her first encounter with a victim of Soul Edge solidified her beliefs.

A Malfested warrior was the first kill she was ever forced to make. Though she tried just knocking him out, the unholy energy that flowed in his veins made him extremely hard to beat down, and blows that would make any normal man go into a coma just annoyed him. Sariah fought hard and fierce, and regrettably, she cracked his skull with her tonfa, killing him.

For a few years, she lived in fear of divine consequences. Would her soul be damned for this? Would she ever be forgiven? She asked herself these questions every day, until she was absolved of her sins by her village's priest. She joined the religious order they followed, and worked as a healer to further atone.

Once she was satisfied that her soul would be safe, she went on her travels. She fought rarely, but when she had to, was fierce yet merciful. Only two others died by her hand, and within a year, she found herself at the entrance of a place of legend: The Lost Cathedral.

She felt strong power inside, and traveled through the ruins. A great battle between the swords had taken place, and judging by the divine energies present, there was still a remnant inside. She eventually reached the place of battle, where she found a piece of Soul Calibur. After picking it up, it formed into a comparatively weak pair of wristblades. While stronger than her own weapons, they paled in comparison to the real Soul Calibur.

With the divine blades in her hands, she traveled the lands and purified any Malfested she had to fight. After a while, the power in the blades drained away, and they were reduced to a pair of mundane weapons. She set them in her village's church as a memento.

After more traveling, she moved to Italy and joined a forming band of mercenaries. 17 years later, she found herself preparing for another journey. Soul Edge had returned, and had to be stopped at all costs.

Alice Belmont

Personality: Relatively kind, but occasionally cold and distant. Hardship in her early life made her somewhat cynical, but she tries not to come off as cruel or judgemental. While not quite depressed, she's less happy in general than most other people are.

Born to a poor family in France, Alice's first years alive were filled with strife that she thankfully does not remember. She was abandoned at a very young age, and was found by a traveling noblewoman. She couldn't bear to let an innocent child starve to death, and adopted Alice without question. She raised her as if she were her own, and made sure she got a proper childhood.

When Alice was old enough, her mother decided to reveal a family secret: They were a group of noble assassins, taking contracts to kill corrupt politicians, slavers, and others that made the world a worse place for everyone. While initially shocked, Alice soon came to live with the idea that her mother was a trained killer. She wanted no part of it at first, but finally decided to join the business after witnessing the cruelty of corrupt nobility.

While at a party, Alice saw a poor girl subject to harsh ridicule and physical abuse, which the other 'nobles' saw as entertainment. With her barely-contained rage, she returned the assault on the offender, breaking his nose and cutting his cheek, ruining his prized face. She escaped before he could retaliate.

Strangely, the group of assassins Alice was to join posed as entertainers or workers, infiltrating their targets' place of residence for extended periods of time before quietly disposing of them. With only a few positions left open, Alice chose to become a dancer.

She was trained by a woman who claimed to be from the Bird of Passage, a high-profile clan of assassins that used circular blades for their kills. She had disagreed with their carelessness with contracts, and wanted to put her skills toward a better cause. The Belmont family's assassins were much more suited to her morality.

After three years of training, Alice was ready for her first contract. A noble in Britain involved with human trafficking was to be killed by her blade. After giving her farewells, she took her weapon and immediately set off.

When she arrived, she discovered she wasn't the only assassin sent after the man. Another woman, posing as a maid, had been sent by a different clan to kill him. The two agreed to work together, and while they remained in the noble's home, they exchanged details about his schedules and possible escape routes.

The two of them agreed to make the kill together. After three weeks in the home, they'd mapped every hidden passage, every window, and every access point to the man's bedroom. They approached him together one night, and after false promises of seduction, Alice made the kill with poisoned lipstick.

The two assassins left the body in his bed, and planted a dagger in his hands after stabbing the corpse with it. The two snuck out and reported the apparent suicide to the city guards, and after the funeral services were completed, they parted ways.

Alice continued to accept contracts against the corrupt through her years, eventually settling down as the new master of her clan. She trained newcomers and kept peace, before eventually setting out to find the woman that had helped her so long ago.

Varoth Varacougar

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Personality: Hateful, full of resentment and pent-up anger. He never loses his cool, but his immense distaste for everything shows clearly. He hates to serve anyone and has a god complex, feeling that he should be the immortal ruler of whatever he wants. His plans tend to be short-thought, but he's more than confident that he can destroy anything that interferes.

17 years had passed since Varoth was locked away. 17 years of isolation and weakness, sealed in a dark world of his own creation. His body aged rapidly, making his already-decrepit body even weaker. Despite his strongest spells, he could hold off the truth no longer. He was dying. The wizard spent some time in the remains of castle Ostreinsburgh, using the dark energy present in the land to power himself.

Learning that Xander was still alive only added insult to injury. He was in no shape to handle the boy. A man now, rather. Varoth mused over the passage of time. What was nearly two decades felt like a mere two months to him, but all the pain and weakness of age came with it. Even worse, his piece of the cursed sword was gone. He was essentially powerless.

As he traveled, he studied and tried to find ways to rejuvenate himself. Absorbing souls was the fastest way, but that required the strength of mighty warriors. Varoth couldn't overpower even the weakest trainee. With Drakan dead, force was out of the question.

Through further study, he learned of a woman Xander had met sometime after his sealing. Leandra Scott, a renowned swordswoman, once a wielder of Soul Edge. She avoided malfestation somehow, but had lost her weapons. Age was beginning to creep up on her as well. Varoth needed someone young, with many years ahead of them.

That's when he learned of Luke.

The son of a legendary warrior, young and hardy. Varoth guessed that Leandra's contact with the cursed sword passed on to the boy, and his plans were decided. He would attempt an extremely risky procedure that had only been done twice in history: Stealing the body of another.

He gathered what strength he had left and began to travel, seeking out Leandra and Xander. He would not confront them, only watch and learn in secret. Eventually, he would find his target, and then he could begin.
His mother, Leandra Scott, had begun traveling with Xander Alondite. While they were gone, Luke was left alone at home.

Varoth decided to take advantage of the boy's isolation. Posing as an old monk, he approached his house and asked for aid. He claimed to have been a traveling merchant, and offered him some random wares for compensation. A sword was the boy's first choice, predictably.

While Leandra and Xander were gone, Varoth made small talk with Luke. Questions about his parents, his mother's adventures, and his own plans for life. He learned as much as he could about the child, then offered him a place as his apprentice.

Before Luke answered, Varoth felt Xander's presence and had to leave. He'd promised to return in a week, and once that time had passed and the two adults were gone again, he returned. This continued for a month until Luke accepted Varoth's offers. Falling for Varoth's lies, Luke drank a mind-altering potion that Varoth had brewed. It allowed him to easily abduct the boy and escape.

He returned to Drakan's kingdom, and began the ritual to transfer his soul to Luke's body. Xander and Leandra had tracked him down, but by the time they arrived, he was already in the process of transferring his soul into Luke's body. Just as the warriors entered the room, Varoth's old body expired, and Luke fell unconscious.The ritual was a success.

Over the next few weeks, Varoth's influence slowly grew. He corrupted Luke and took over his body, viciously attacking Leandra before running away. He began to travel Europe in search of something.
Luke's path was extremely erratic, as if he were searching for something. His broken weapon, the scythe infected by Soul Edge's energy.

When Luke found it, he took the weapon and changed its form to suit his new body's needs. A pair of blades, usable without trouble by the boy. Varoth was somewhat dissatisfied with the body, but already had new plans. As soon as he'd absorbed enough souls, he would perform another spell. One that had been theorized, but never actually performed.

He would create an entirely new body for himself, and discard the child.

Raging Wolf

Personality: Distrustful, cynical, and generally not a nice person. While not exactly evil, he doesn't take bullshit from anyone and isn't afraid to kill to get ahead in life. Has an intense hatred for supernatural creatures due to his past, and fights with the ferocity of an animal.

A pirate born in the New World. Back home, he had a relatively normal life. He hunted, he taught children how to fight, and he told stories of his life around campfires. It was an enjoyable existance, and he wouldn't have traded anything for it.

Sadly, his life at home wouldn't last. In the middle of winter, his camp was attacked by a creature he thought only existed in legends: a wendigo. A cold wind drifted over the camp, but before he awoke, the creature had already taken his brothers. He was the only survivor of the attack, and the mangled, frozen corpses of his tribemates littered the ground.

Filled with rage, he took his father's tomahawk and began to travel north, tracking the creature's movements. Every night, he heard the beast's howls, and every night, he responded with his own. The creature eventually learned it was being followed, and stopped to see exactly what it was. The predator was curious as to what had the courage to hunt it.

Wolf stood at the base of the wendigo's mountain, and howled at it. The creature responded by howling back, and accepted his challenge. It remained at the mountain's peak, and waited patiently for the brave human to prove himself. Wolf immediately began his climb, ignoring the extreme cold that radiated from the stone.

When he reached the peak, he was covered in ice burns. He didn't care about the injuries, and focused only on killing the beast that had slaughtered his people. He wasn't expecting what he saw. The wendigo stood, and the two stared each other down.

The creature was something out of a nightmare. Its body was terribly skinny, despite the fact that it had eaten a collective ton of flesh at the camp. It was covered in sparse, stringy white fur, leaving its lower arms, stomach, chest, and face bald. The face itself was ashy and gray, the skin pressing against the skull's ridges and sockets. Its lips looked as if they'd been torn apart, and it bore extremely sharp fangs.

Wolf said a quiet prayer for his tribe, then rushed the creature. The two battled fiercely, and Wolf was cut across the chest by the beast. Ignoring the wounds, Wolf violently hacked at the wendigo when it was close enough. The beast was overpowered by a maddened, howling man, and died when his axe split its face.

Victorious, Wolf decided to claim a prize from the beast's body. He fashioned the bones into a new axe, and crafted the fur into gauntlets and boots. He had nowhere left now, but rather than dwell on the past, he decided to leave. He'd heard stories of other lands across the sea, and joined a crew of pirates. They took him in, and his ferocity proved invaluable to them.

They finally took port in India a few months later. While he stayed, Wolf bought a shield and modified his fighting style. They stayed in port for a few months, but unfortunately, they weren't the only pirates there.

A group of pirates cursed by Soul Edge docked, and attacked the city. Almost everyone was slaughtered in the attack, but Wolf managed to fight off the cursed people and escape. He found a shard of the sword in the weapon of the leader, but didn't know its power. After tossing it into the ocean, Wolf began to travel north, searching for answers.

Maximus Tullius

Alignment: Neutral

Personality: Despite not assigning himself to any alleigances, Maximus has a sense of honor that only a warrior would fully understand. He is extremely skilled in battle and never turns down a fight, and will put himself in the way of someone weaker than himself to protect them. However, he has nothing against criminals and will do nothing to stop a crime if someone is not being hurt. Currently focused on finding his daughter.

Maximus was taken from his home by a group of Roman Legionaries. He was suspected of treason against the Holy Roman Empire, but had no part in any conspiracies. As "punishment" for his supposed crimes, Maximus's wife was killed before him, and his daughter taken as a prisoner to keep him from trying anything.

He begrudgingly accepted the terms of the Empire for his "redemption." He was to fight in the Coliseum to prove his strength, then travel for them to seek a rogue priest. Maximus's fights were among the most popular at the time they happened, due to his extreme ferocity and determination in battle. He obtained many wounds, and even while wrapped in bandages, he continued to fight.

When he defeated his final opponent, he was ordered to kill her. While initially hesitant, she accepted her death at the hands of someone she considered more honorable than herself. Maximus obliged, and decapitated the woman with her own axe. He had proven himself more than once that day, and was ready for his travels.

His target was a young priest of the Christian faith, who had left the church because of its extremist methods. They wanted him killed, and while Maximus scoffed at the hypocracy in their idea of dealing with the problem, he had no choice. He followed the priest into Sparta, where he had apparently been hiding. While there, he tracked the man down and saw that he had settled with a woman, starting a family of his own.

Maximus couldn't bring himself to kill the man, and returned to Rome empty-handed. Because of his failure, his daughter was led out into the wilderness and left to die. A three year old girl couldn't live by herself out there, or so the preachers thought. In a blind rage, Maximus slaughtered the priests and immediately set out into the wilds, determined to find his daughter and bring her home.

Alma Rajan

Alignment: Neutral good

Personality: Firey, hotheaded, and extremely confident in herself and her clan. Not quite as interested in the supernatural as some, though she's apparently afraid of djinn. Much more of a thief than Nazeer, but still willing to help those in need. Has a weakness for kebabs and a foreign drink called mead.

A woman who lived as a street urchin as a child, telling secrets for money and lies for food. She was successful, or at least as successful as a homeless child in the desert could be. Alma found life relatively enjoyable, and was often accompanied by another young girl on her escapades. Sadly, they were caught by the guard one day. Rather than have to feed another child they found, the guards killed Alma's friend and dumped her body in the desert.

Alma swore she would get revenge, but being driven out of the city put a hard spot in her plans. While she lived off the water of an oasis, she was approached by a strange spirit. It was a djinn, a magical creature that was more often malevolent than not. She showed fear, but it ignored her reactions and instead gave her a strange crystal. When it glowed in her hands, the djinn screeched and invaded Alma's body, becoming one with her.

When she awoke hours later, the creature had successfully bound itself to her soul. She gained minor control over wind, but her attempts to control water only ended in her falling into the oasis. Now determined to avenge her friend, she returned home.

The guard that killed her was a well-known corrupt warrior. Unnecessarily brutal, easy to bribe, and hard to reason with. While he was drinking at the village's bar, she poisoned his drink and watched from the corner of the room. The last thing the guard saw was Alma smiling at him.

She stole his sword and left, using her wind-controlling powers to guide her. She was eventually found by a group of traveling bandits, led by Nazeer. She quickly grew on all of them, and was accepted into the band.

Viktor Drakan

Personality: Usually kind, but still out of the ordinary for a princess. She wants to be a knight, and refuses to sit around and deal with politics. She's annoyed at her father's insistence that she remain in safety as well.

Ever since she was a young girl, Astrid wanted to be a knight. She dreamed of joining the ranks of armoured heroes in battle, dreamed of a romantic journey across the world, and wished for it every night. Her father was reluctant, and despite her pleas, he didn't approve of her getting training. She resented her parents for that, and in secret, disguised herself as a male and entered the knight's academy.

She trained with a sword and shield, typical of any knight. While it wasn't particularly glamorous, it helped her blend in with the ranks. She would be more convincing if she didn't stick out, and after many years of training in secret, she graduated and became an official knight of her kingdom.

Then, the malfested struck. They slaughtered everyone, and killed her parents. Astrid's skills kept her alive through the assault, though she was hurt and infected by Soul Edge's power. It did not malfest her or take her soul, but she began to experience mood swings and changes in her body.

When her mother and father died, Astrid was devastated. She became queen of a broken kingdom she didn't want, and ruler of desperate people who expected her to be the best. The stress, along with her infections, were too much for her to handle. She donned her armour, picked up her weapons, and ran away.

Story fluff coming eventually.

Masahiro Kojima

Personality: A kind, caring, and mostly gentle old man that takes more pleasure in relaxing with tea than fighting these days. Despite his innocent demeanor, he's an extremely deadly ninja and a legendary assassin, known for his high-profile killings of wanted criminals. He can be very strict at times, and despite his age, is known to be quite the charmer.

Long ago, stories of a young swordsman seeking glory passed through Japan's lower classes. He claimed to be the descendant of a god, and fought for justice and freedom. Most real swordsmen passed the story on as a joke, but children looked up to the mysterious figure, known to them only as the white samurai.

In reality, Masahiro was much less glamorous in his younger days. He was a shameless thief and somewhat of a womanizer, but his respect for life and his hatred of opression were not exaggerated in the slightest. He was a member of a gang known as the White Eagles, who were wannabes in every sense of the word. Many of them were horribly inept at fighting, and Masahiro was the only one of them even in shape.

Another gang decided the group had gotten enough publicity, even if it was all just in good fun. They jumped the White Eagles and killed most of them while they were having lunch. Masahiro barely escaped, but not until he'd relieved the enemy gang's leader of his groin and right arm. He was cut up, bruised, and fatigued when he finally stopped running. An old man found him by a river, cleaning the blood and dirt from his arms.

While he was wary at first, Masahiro agreed to join the man for training. He was taught how to wield a katana with unpredictability, and fight in a flamboyant but extremely effective style. He was given two swords and a flagstaff, which he used with surprising skill. However, the man had a condition. He was not to seek revenge on his enemies, and instead let time be their judge.

Masahiro was angry at first, and considered leaving to kill the gang himself. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized he would be killed if he tried to do it. He humbly accepted his master's request, and instead continued his training for another ten years.

His master was dying from age now, and eventually requested a final duel from his prized student. Masahiro obliged him, and the two engaged in a fierce and tearful battle. Masahiro finally bested his master, and mercifully ended his life by stabbing him. His master smiled, and realized his training was finally complete. A small scroll fell from his sleeve, and he closed his eyes before dying peacefully and without regret.

The scroll contained the location of a suit of ancient armour, forged by the first in the master's long line of samurai. Masahiro traveled Japan to find the suit, and finally obtained it after a tedious and backbreaking climb up Mt. Fuji. He donned the armour, and found another scroll in the belt. A last request to reform the master's long-dead clan.

Masahiro obliged, and the Silver Phoenix was born.

Adrienne Robinson

Personality: Proud, confident, and strong-willed, Adrienne is the perfect candidate for knighthood. She began training at an early age, and is very disciplined. She is also very religious: Her main goal for traveling is spreading word of her faith to others.

When Adrienne was a girl, she never expected she would become a crusader. She was the daughter of a fairly middle-class British family, and her life was rather uneventful. Wake up, pray to God, work at a mill, and return home for more prayer. It wasn't much, but she was happy.

When she turned 16, she was married to the son of a family friend. Thankfully, both of them were happy with the arrangement; They'd been seeing each other in secret since they were 12. Everything was going well. The families had been linked together, finally achieving enough money to be considered nobility, their children were happily married, and they had purchased a respectable milling business. Life was perfect.

Then, the Azure Knight's minions came. They raided the cities, plundering homes and killing anyone they couldn't malfest. Adrienne called upon her God to protect her; Amazingly, her prayers were answered. Both her own family and her husband's were protected from the Malfested, who were unable to attack them. Realizing that Faith could be used as a weapon against Soul Edge, Adrienne swore to spread the word of God to those in need. She armoured herself, and along with her husband, left Britain in order to aid those without guidance.

Kenai Danjuma

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Personality: Kind and fair to the people in his tribe, and ruthless to those that would threaten them. Kenai is a fierce warrior and has absolute faith in his people. Along with being a warrior, he's a deeply religious man that started his tribe's faith. They worship the phoenix, and believe that their messiah will be born under the bird's presence.

He had traveled the world, but failed to find their Messiah. The golden-eyed man had disappeared without a trace. Kenai felt as if he'd failed his people, and sought to redeem himself in death by flames. It was the most honorable choice for redemption among his people. While tearful and regretful, his tribe helped him build the pyre needed to perform the ritual.

Kenai sat in the middle, and set the pyre ablaze. The heat stabbed at him as the flames raged, but he calmly closed his eyes to be taken by the fire. His soul would be purged of the sins of failure, and he would be redeemed in heaven. His death, he thought, would make his ancestors proud.

When the flames died, his tribe was shocked to see Kenai still alive. The burning pyre had been reduced to ash, but Kenai was perfectly fine. He couldn't believe what was happening; the phoenix had spared him from death. He believed it was a sign that there was another one that would lead them to salvation.

Despite his age, Kenai was filled with the energy of determination. He took up his spear and left Africa once again to seek their savior, the immortal that would purge the world from all evil with his holy fire. On his travels, he went to many temples, testing their priests for signs of immortality. But despite his efforts, he was once again fruitless.

He did not realize it, but while Kenai was hunting, there was another hunting him.

While the tribal man slept, the sounds of inhuman wails came from the darkness. The sight of glowing eyes and the smell of rotting flesh assaulted Kenai's senses, and a towering man emerged, dragging an axe behind him. He recognized it as the warrior from the North he had killed, apparently returned to life. Kenai would not let the monster stop his quest. He took up his spear again, and prepared for the battle.

Gabriel Bristol

Personality: Somewhat abrasive in his old age, Gabriel tends to be blunt and strict when it comes to directions. He's very intelligent in the scientific arts, especially medicine and healing. He's a bit paranoid about sickness, as he lost his wife to disease. As such, he always wears his mask and long coats to keep himself covered.

Personality: Despite his cheery and outgoing personality, Lucian is a complete psychopath. He acts as an assassin for hire among a clan of hidden blades, spread throughout Europe. He believes everyone has a reason to die, and often acts as the messenger for his philosophy.

Personality: Disciplined and calm, no matter what. He believes enlightenment and the path to salvation lies within training. He has no grudges towards anyone, but always makes sure a matter is settled. As a teacher, he's learned to deal with problematic people through either words or physical discipline.

A very well-respected monk, and caretaker of a Buddhist temple high in China's mountains. They kept the public image of being a normal place of religious enlightenment; In reality, they had a small group of highly-trained monks that sealed demons away. The influence of Soul Edge caused a myriad of possessions, and the monks tried their hardest to seal them all away.

One night, a Japanese couple traveled to Bai Xian's temple in order to seek help. They brought their son, a young boy no older than sixteen. The other monks all failed to revert the possession; there was something different about this demon. It was bound to the boy's body by some unknown force. Bai Xian could not properly seal the demon away; drastic measures had to be taken.

Bai Xian would take the demon into his own body. While he prepared the ritual, he made as much conversation with the boy as he could. "Tell me your name" was Xian's first request. The boy answered, "Toshiro Mishima."

As they conversed through the night, Xian performed many prayers. The demon grew angry, and as the room went dark, Xian prepared to combat the beast directly. When he successfully pulled the demon from Toshiro's body, he did what the other monks had thought impossible, and beat it into submission. Just before he delivered the final blow, the demon possessed him, becoming ethereal and entering his body. It lay dormant, attempting to regain its strength so it could take him as a host.

While Xian knew that the demon would return, he was satisfied that he had managed to save the boy. He returned to his parents, and after a tearful celebration, they returned home. Xian left the temple that day to seek Soul Calibur, believing that it was the only thing that could fully eradicate the devil inside him.

Is a fan of kabuki, and usually wears facepaint on missions.

These are all well done. I especially like Raging Wolf and Alma Rajan. I love the idea of creating characters which represent cultures not shown in the series yet, so seeing an Arab warrior is just plain awesome. ;)

But yeah, I was going for the "similar but older" look for him. The face was a pretty good choice, I think. When he's compared to his SCIV self he definitely looks more mature.

Thanks! I'm hoping to find some fur gauntlets to replace the bandages, though. White fur armour's a big part of his character, considering his backstory.

...Which reminds me, I need to spend the next week writing out backstories.
