For a while, I was hoping that this type of collaboration would take place for Soulcalibur V in Northern California, and now it is official. Haunts over at iPlayWinner has announced that they are teaming up with FilthieRich to give people in the NorCal area an early crack at Soulcalibur V, which will be held on Sunday, January 8th at SouthTown Arcade in San Francisco, California.

For those who are unable to attend, iPlayWinner will also be running a stream starting at 6PM Pacific. Additional details and an embed of the stream can be found after the break.

... even if I lived in a connecting state I would still show up.

Okay so a couple questions: What console will SCV be on? Also, are you allowed to bring your own controllers?

If you arent a stick player you should bring your own controller. A few people (very few) brought their own controller for it at SCR, they were allowed to hook up too. I dont know if you would be able to here but it seems most likely if you want to play at the best to your abilities.

    Exactly.
If you bring your own pad/stick, ask them if you can have it connected, I'm sure they wont mind. I would tweet Filthie though JUST in case, but I had no problem using my pad at SCR.

Alright. So do you know what console it'll be on? Most likely PS3, huh?
  6. TagYouRPregnant
    Yep.

    And vid! O:

hmmm, i dont know. IMO, or i thought, that SCR had both systems but i do 100% know they had PS3. so i would probably bring both or if its a hassle to just bring PS3. You can just borrow one too at the event or take turns or something. I'm sure that people wont mind unless if they are seriously stubborn/selfish, but of course be prepared in case.

Can't wait to get streamed scrubbing it up my first time playing. =D

just mess around and experiment, watch others play the character you are using and learn from that. and make sure you set R1 to A+B+K, i think its automatically R2 on PS3.... R1 seems easier because its closer.

USE THE METER. you will lose quickly if you dont and your opponent is.

    EDIT: Command Lists too

If only I could get someone to drive me up to San Francisco.

Nothing ever happens down here in SJ. Oh, the things I'd do just to see the game in person, I don't even need to play it just yet...

Namco's office is in San Jose. Go hound them.

Or just hop on a bus to San Fran and play some SCV.

Are you allowed to look at the command lists there?
  16. Fatal_Exodus
More like Santa Clara (it's right next to Great America I think, but that doesn't matter).

And hopping on a bus to SF the night before a school day? lolololol

Technically you're not supposed to. They weren't picky about it in SCR, but they don't want you to look at it since it's "unfinished", but that was our build, idk if ya'll are getting the brand new build with Algol and Edge.

Eh, I can wait til release, gotta watch some NFL playoff action. Have fun guys xD

It's probably going to be the preview build they've been sending to these media outlets lately (Gametrailers, Gamespot, Desctructoid etc), the one with arcade, quick battle and CaS modes (no Algol or EM so far). Or Filthy could let you play the SCR build.
