    So, I'm really hoping a lot of his stances and moves return from 2. I was watching an interview with Kayane and Tago said if enough people wanted it they would change it (paraphrase). I prefered the 4 preparations to 1 and the prep sidestep to the shadow evade alpha and beta.

    lolz, more fun to play doesn't equal better though. Just look at the difference between SC2 Ivy and SC4 Ivy

    In my personal opinion, Raphael just needs to be revised, not mimicked from SC 2 :3

    we need a raphael that's not focused on the forward B spamming. i can't stand facing him and know it's coming and have a hard time getting around it. in SC2 he had a lot more strengths. A LOT MORE. that's why many people want him back to this way. in my opinion he's getting worse with every game.

    Without a doubt, SC2 Raph was the most fun Raph I've ever played.
    Since SC3, his half of movelist was given to Amy, and become the Raph he is now, as I feel he is uncomplete.
    Because Amy is now a different character (not using rapier), yeah, it would be nice if he got the old moves back and be revised from there.

    SC2 Raph was more versatile and had more options, and I feel he's gotten worse and gotten more linear with every game.

    The general power scaling of characters is that SC2 >>> SC4 in terms of overall power.

    Raphael in SC2 had a 6BBB series that would blow SC4's version out of the water.
    His SCC cancel good, but truthfully not very raph-like.
    His 3B was a ground hitting launcher that you could fish for hits, unlike in SC4 where you have to commit to stance or else you'll only do 20 damgae.
    2K giving a crazy +6 frames on hit.

    Not to mention he had working AEs.

    So no, I don't think it's a wise thing to say people want SC2 raph in terms of power level (because its' relative to the game, not to the character).

    It would be better if people who suggest so at least bring up mechanistic or even flavour points on why SC2 Raph is preferable. I'm not a fan of too many stances, as it seems needlessly complicated.

    Sc4 raph is his most viable form.....

    Sc3 raph is the stongest in raw power that raph has ever been but everyone in sc3 is broken so hes not viable
    in sc3 ae hes apparently high mid

    sc2 raph shared a tier with yun as the 2 worst in the game

    Tiers don't matter to me, you play with and practice with who you want. It's all about how well you know your character.

    But, it is true that some characters have a lot more effective moves and options than others.

    yeah, all this was in the back of my mind too. but even though he was a more powerful character than he is now people would see more than the same 3 moves from him. now when i face him online everyone does the same crap but who can blame them? that's his main move set that keeps him in positive frames pretty much constantly. all because of that A button. SC2 raph didn't have that so if you blocked his 6BBB then he was open for punishment unless he went into he dodge stances which didn't have him look like he was having a hallucination about doing the limbo.

    the shadow evade stance is a stance he had in sc2. b+k to high horizontals and he does the same thing in two with that input

    like seriously sc2 is a bad game
    i played it twice and was beating people who swear its the best shit ever at fsak because its that shallow

    I hope namco ignores this thread because for once raph looks good

    I'm pretty sure that's a joke since it's historically well known that necrid and console exclusives were banned, but i can't tell sometimes on the internet!

    $20, but we film it and when I win you have to say on camera "I now know the warm, loving embrace of SC2 Raphael."

    yeah but he would only evade if you tried to hit him much like talim's 1B. if you tried to hit her when she was recovering from the move she would leap back. press B and you have yourself the guard break super man hit. now you just watch as he's bending over backwards for nothing. i know it's for a certain attack but it looks silly. just give him more options. give him more variety so he's fun to play with.
