Reliable way to test for tech traps?

I go to practice mode and set Freestyle Settings to 1st action Normal and 2nd action Guard All. Then I set Ukemi to whatever position I want them to tech (back, forward, left, right, normal, none).

Is there any flaw to this method?
 
I don't think so, no.

Just remember the Just Ukemi rule (any opponent hit with a vertical strike that smashes downward can Just Ukemi) and I think it'll be fine.

You can also play plenty of casuals and spam the tech trap until you see a vulnerability. >_>
 
Remember that there are some variables that make characters tech differently, three biggest I know of are hit-box size, what position the character was knocked to the floor in (i.e. face-up face-down and headtowards-headaway-headangledright-headangledleft) and which foot the character leads. There is also a slight chance things will not work the same way on 2P side(but could work better too).
