I like this game...more and more every day. I realize some of you think it's "broke" or are burnt out, but I just started playing in June and I have never played a game more. I mean.. maybe Gran Turismo way back in the day, but I don't think so. I'm not buying Tekken 6. I have no interest. I like THIS game. I just do. The characters, the weapons, the depth, the graphics, etc etc etc.

Oh, I'll play other games. Baja:Edge of Control, NHL '10, and anything in the Tenchu series; but it seems that this game is the perfect fit for me.

This is all I have to say. Any 'lovers' still out there?
 
I like this game....

That's the right attitude to have, man. I love this game too, despite the problems other people have with it. The only two negative things I have to say about SC4 are about it's design changes (glossy character models, drastically different Soul Edge/Calibur, Astaroth is a rock) and it's lack of singleplayer longevity, but I can overlook all that because it's still Soul Calibur. I've loved the series since SC1 on DC, I always thought it had some of the best concepts in the world of fighting games (wildly varying weapon styles, having to worry about stage spacing and ringouts, air control).

It just seems to be a hell of alot more fun than other games, really.

This game is great...honestly if it wasnt for this game I wouldnt be on my ps3 half as much. I will be getting Tekken 6 only to stay in loop with my friends, but i will not be learning it in depth, SC4 is the fighting game of choice. hmmmmm yup i love this game....

Even though it's been getting some serious neglect since I bought Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. Omg... too good.

I like this game....

There's a few things, but overall the game regarded as pretty balanced. Burnt out to some unfortunately however. Still my favorite fighter by far, but even I honestly am a lil put off that we have no 1.04 patch (complete with hilde nerf!).

Game just needs a lil love from namco and it could pick up again, we'll see with SC:BD. They got some ideas (some good, some bad...Ivy new stance changing...ugh...why?!?). But I love it simply because the huge movelists, weapon styles, and tools provided give you many different ways to face a scenario. You're not forced to follow a flow chart of proper punishment and counter character strategy all the time. You can mix and match skills and play a character effectively different than another player playing the same character. I don't feel like I get that much freedom with other fighters (particularly 2d fighters) where its more about who messes up. This is a thinking fighter, not a dexterous heavy reaction fest...but you can make it if you want it! (Gi happy Setsuka JFs if you wanted!).

Games great, we just need to bring the community back, fix a few in game issues and eal out a new update of nerfs and buffs. Overall it's great as is and ill be playing till next evo. I have spent more time on this game than any other and this includes MMOs.

yeah.. i still have love for the soul calibur series as well.
i personnally hate 3. 4 is a step back in the right direction. but 2?

2 will and always be my sweet love.

1 was a beast. and edge was fun. but 2?

2 will and always be my favorite soul calibur...
 
I like this game....

I've loved SC since SC2, and I still enjoy it now. I, like the OP, hopped into SC4 late, heh, mixture of lack of funds and forgetting it came out led to me just getting the fourth one at the end of July. I only have one issue with SC4, and thats the single player, which consists of average arcade, weak story(which was WAY shorter than I expected, my first play through, know what I mean??) and the Tower of Lost Souls, where it asks me to beat an opponent with one button, while standing on one leg, whistling. At which point I say screw it all. Darnit, if it wasnt for my obsession with CAS parts...

I gotta say I kinda miss something like the Chronicles of the Sword thing in SC3, from what I've heard, most people hated that game, but I kinda liked that part, it was somewhat like Fire Emblem. Also, I kinda miss my Knife discipline character...

So yeah, Im one of those people who still say "... I like this game."

i've enjoyed soul series since old soul blade/soul edge.. good old times on ps1, when i was only a child :)
too much memories about this series...
all of these series makes me dream: best fightin gameplay by far, chars characterization, stages, soundtracks (best i've ever heard) etcetera.
i'm truly in love w/ SC series <3

I like this game....

I concur with all of these assessments. I am absolutely in love with this series. So much to the point that I haven't played another game in close to 5 years. It's just sad that it seems like the scene is dying out here in Seattle...again. Fuck it. I'm moving back to the TX where the scene is the strongest and the legend will truly never die.

I too enjoy this game.
I wasn't into the series back in the day, I did play SC2 for the gamecube and main Kilik all the way!
But I was too into DOA to care about any other fighter but now that I gave SC4 a chance,I grew to like the game a whole lot and the community since they welcomed me with open arms. n_n

I like this game....

For me, VF > SC > Tekken. Unfortunately VF is pretty much dead in America and it's highly unlikely that VF 5R is coming to the states. That's not to say that I don't really like the SC series, of course.

I like this game....

I will forever love this game more than any game in the world. Even though I'm not very good. I've been playing Soul Calibur ever since SC2.It was one of the first games I played. Very good music, great character designs, unique weapons, etc.

This game is awesome and all, but making this topic into a sticky... that's like saying that caviar is only slightly salty. Anyways, LONG LIVE THE SOUL CALIBUR SERIES!
 
I like this game....

I love this game a lot, it seems to have some mysterious charm. I remember making a road trip to the US to get it on release date. After a year Soul Calibur 4 still feels new to me, I tried Street Fighter 4 and Blazblue, but I lost interest in them after a few weeks. SC4 is the only game I play everyday.
