I play on my monitor that does not have speakers. How can i hear the ps3 game sounds? what do i have to buy?

I basically use standard computer speakers since my monitor doesn't have an HDMI port.:D

You can set the PS3 to output audio through the av-out. You might still have the composite cables that came with the console. Use that.
Now, you can plug it straight to your stereo amplifier OR you could buy a RCA stereo splitter (3.5 mm stereo male and two RCA females) and plug it to your computer speakers.
Depending how your speakers are on your desk and if you don't want to swap them around you might need to plug the red cable to white plug and vice versa.
OR if you want some surround sound system, you need an optical cable, set your PS3 to output audio through that and you need some home theater system (with an amplifier, subwoofer and bunch of speakers).
