Speculations that you still stand behind

With the release of the Japanese in depth art book, a LOT more questions have been answered. There are still some that have not been answered. So here are the speculations that I still stand behind:

Viola is Amy. WAAAAAAAAY too many similarities for it to be coincidence. The only thing that disproves this theory is Viola's claimed age, but then again, she can't remember much of her past, so she could easily just be a 30 year old.

Nightmare's new host body is Raphael's old body, and Raphael is a specter. Considering when Nightmare awoke again, he found a lifeless body of a warrior, and I believe it has been confirmed Raphael WAS dead at least for some time, this makes sense to me. It would also explain how Amy managed to disappear. This would ALSO explain why Nightmare is considerably weaker canonically, as the body is not suited for a zweihander like weapon, like Siegfried's body was.

Arthur is Natsu's father. Just because his wife dies doesn't Arthur can't remarry or even have a one night stand. He likely has a connection with shrine people due to his wife being descended from one, so that would explain why they would choose a daughter of a shrine girl to seal Arahabaki in.

Zasalamel was "killed" during the interim of Soul Calibur IV and V, and his current reincarnated body is still too young to play any major part in the war. I have no real evidence on this one, but it's the only canonical way I can think of as to why Zasalamel isn't mentioned AT ALL in V.

Though Z.W.E.I.'s exact level of skill in unknown, it's very doubtful he could have been beaten a full fledged inferno. This is the first time that Soul Edge lost to a weapon that wasn't Soul Calibur (Raphael stabbing the eye of Soul Edge not withstanding). Either I'm misjudging Z.W.E.I, or Graf Dumas was not a particularly strong host.

-Soul Calibur V story mode is the source of that.

I was under the impression that Dumas/Nightmare wasn't up to full strength due to not having enough Soul Edge fragments prior to Nightmare's first appearance in story mode (if Dumas had appeared as the Azure Knight before then, Patroklos likely wouldn't have been surprised about it). I don't think he used a zweihänder as Dumas.

So, yeah, I can see where you're getting that. Nightmare just woke up essentially, hadn't had his morning cup of blood yet when Zwei came calling.

That could be somewhat of the case, though it doesn't make as much sense it's stated that he had collected enough shards to form a conscious again, not necessarily enough to be his own host, but still a good enough willpower as it stands. Furthermore on top of that, Nightmare technically didn't have all the shards of Soul Edge in IV either, as if he did, Sophitia and Maxi would have both been dead during IV's timeline.

Whatever the reason, there were several factors as it was to conclude that Nightmare was not remotely close to full power in V.

I believe we're in agreement. My previous post was poorly articulated; I think Soul Edge has been conscious and controlling Raph's body for 17-ish years, but hadn't yet regained the strength needed to manifest as Nightmare prior to SCV's story. I'm not sure that Nightmare's ever been at full strength while controlling Siegfried, or after. I could be wrong though, can't remember exactly.

Natsu is 17. Arthur's daughter was born during the SoulCalibur timeline, thus making her either 20 or 21.

However, that doesn't mean he can't have two children. However, since quite a few from Europe went to Japan, it seems pretty small, but I think it would be a great idea. Give Natsu a reason to even be born in Japan.

Now some things I stand by:
-Raphael is Nightmare
-Amy is Viola. Pretty much one of the obvious ones.
-Zasalamel has likely been reincarnated. If not, he is older.
-Z.W.E.I. has Persian ancestry. That's more of a personal analysis.
-Xiba will be crazy at some point.
-Natsu will too. Or else her Arahabaki would be so useless to include in her bio. Why would it be so important to include in her story?
-The most obvious one, Bangoo will appear in some shape or form.
-Smaller chance of happening, but Riki will become a character too.
-Taki will be downgraded to a story character rather than a regular. Since PS has done this before (Hwang, Li Long), it is possible.
-Cassandra will too. I want her to, because I don't want her as a regular.
-Seung Mina will too. If she is replaced by someone with a longsword, they better give this individual a different style than Xiba's.

-Amy and Viola are the same
-Raphael and Nightmare are the same

That's pretty much all the speculation I've had on SCV's story, the rest hasn't interested me. There's still one loose end that bugs the hell out of me though---WHERE THE FUCK DID MY BABY TIRA GO?!? She's there when Pyrrha grabs Soul Edge, then she's just not.

Well, that's what I meant, is that he had a second child after his first. It's hard to believe that Natsu is full blooded Japanese, and she does share quite a few similarities with Arthur.

I would guess she booked it the fuck out of there, or was Pyrrha Omega's first victim. Though her completely lack of appearance at that point I would assume was left out due to time constraints, which I will shove my foot of Namco's ass if they EVER rush another game again.

Here's one for you.

ZWEI and Viola are Amy split into two entities. The shard became the dickwolf, and Viola's free of the vamp taint.

The only speculations I stand by are

Viola is Amy and Raphael is the current host of Nightmare

Things I can see happening in the future

Pyrrah forced to kill Patroklos and with no going back in time to correct the mistake, because it was meant to happenned

Ivy manipulating certain characters to help her find Soul Edge

Arahabaki will make itself known

Leixia will resent Xianghua

Cervantes becomes a somewhat anti hero, but still has his cruel side intact

Zasalamel will play a bigger role in the Soul Calibur universe

Sophitia will come back one way or another.

That's an intriguing theory, though I don't assume sophistication to be that high on Project Soul's part, so it's unlikely.

I don't think Arahabaki will show itself, I think they literally just wanted Natsu looking as Naruto as possibly and that the demon is just a plot device to tell why Natsu was discriminated against.

Maxi wouldn't have technically died, since the shard only healed his crippled arms. If he were without it, he'd be unable to wield his weapon and fight but that's it. He didn't depend on it to live.

In any case, the fact Nightmare lacked a few shards in IV always seems like a minor non-issue, given he's gathered a large enough amount of energy and souls to bring it back to full-power anyway. Despite lacking a few shards, it was probably still "complete" in terms of raw power.

Sieg!Nightmare wasn't really at full-power at any point, though he has been close. Both times he was defeated he was about to start the ritual to restore Soul Edge back to form, but both times he was beat up and the sword broken even further.

IV Nightmare is probably the closest it gets power-wise to when he was undamaged in Cervantes' hands, if not even possibly its equal or above it.

Well, there are a few foreshadowing for a violent take-over: Every time Natsu uses her Fu-Ma spells, Arahabaki restores a bit more of its lost power, though she's totally unaware of that. Taki has also mentalized herself to do "what's necessary" (kill) if Natsu ever lost it and succumbs to the demon, without hesitation. I think it's a good possibility the demon will play a part at some point in the plot for the Eastern side of the cast.

Because Arahabaki's seal will weaken and his energy will swell within Natsu causing some bloating aesthetic effect on her chest. Lol

In all seriousness: The only speculation that I stand by is that someone on the PS balance team got bodied by a Sieg player in the Beta build and became butt hurt. For all other speculation I'm just a bystander watching what others say to sway peoples minds.

And I can't wait, and with Xiba possibly going crazy too, that means Leixia could FINALLY have some of her own character development too instead of being a carbon copy of her mother.
