Your analog stick is a numpad?

    Well, yes. I've heard people saying this in SCV, and I know how it works, except one thing. Some people i've talked to say that it's like this-...

    *facing this way

    123
    456 ->*
    789

    Other people say it's like this-...

    789
    456 ->
    123

    Or even-...

    987
    654 ->
    321

    And then it changes to the opposite when facing the other way, of course. But which one is correct? It has to be like the way my keyboard numpad is, or am I completely out of my mind then?

    Explain this to me once and for all.

    Thanks!

    The second one is the correct one.

    Hit all of the people that say anything other than a normal keyboard numpad -
    789
    456
    123

    Always assume this is facing right. It's no different than people saying "quarter circle forward" - forward is always the way your character is facing. So 6 is always forward. 4 is always back. 2 is always down. 8 is always up. etc

    Definitely

    789
    456
    123.

    Well, if you want to get technical, the 5 shouldn't even exists because it isn't needed, and thus is usually C for center. 6 = forward, 4 = backward, 3, 33_99, 1, 11_77, 236, 214, 41236, 63214 inputs are reversed when you're on the left side, but 8, 2, and 22_88 inputs are always the same.

    5 is absolutely needed to designate a required neutral and differentiate C from jC/2C/4C/etc. In some combos you can freely use repeated inputs with any combinations of directions (ie 2BB with Pyrrha/Poe can be 2B6B or whatever combination so it doesn't matter) but 5B surely tells you that you should not be pushing any directions during the combo.

    "C for center" I have never, ever seen. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Or maybe I play too many animufighters.

    Not a big deal in SCV, but it can be huge elsewhere.

    I'm just talking purely about SC in general, since I'm not too into other fighters, lawl. Also, usually "neutral" attacks can usually be expressed through a space, comma, or tilde in writing (IE. Pyrrha's 3B, BB)
  7. Hot Rod Dave "Saucy saucy minx"

    Actually neutral will also be express by "5" such as SC4 kiliks 85/25 B. But yes. The second one is correct.

    And this also spans over numerous fighting games. Its almost a universial language for all fighting games.

    Alright then, big thanks! I got a bit confused but I fully understand now. I haven't played that many fighting games in my life, only the Soul Calibur series, from SC2 to SC5.

    Now it's easier to follow other players explanations when they talk about 3B, 444K and such.

    Thanks once again.
