Earlier today Namco Bandai Games EU uploaded more gameplay of SC2:HDO to their YouTube. Still no specific release date, but they are doing a great job of advertising to gamers.

This video features Mitsurugi vs Maxi in a best 2/3 match.

Yesterday, Aris uploaded the remaining matches that were captured from round one of the winners and losers side of the bracket at the Soulcalibur II National tournament.

These matches are without commentary, and some matches may be without sound, but are still worth checking out as I’ve never seen these matches before myself.

Just yesterday a short match video was released of the soon-to-be-released (we hope...) SC2:HDO. The gameplay features Raphael VS Xianghua in a short 2/3 set.

The game is looking good and, honestly, needs to come out already!

As we gear up for the release of Soulcalibur II HD Online sometime this fall, Aris has been producing content for people to become reacquainted with the game. His latest video covers his first ever recorded match at the Soulcalibur II National tournament held in Las Vegas on February 8, 2003, where he faces Misato in the first round.

I wasn’t around during the period when SCII was active, so I really enjoy hearing from the players who were around during that time and hearing the backstory to these videos. And if anyone else has details they would like to share, feel free to do so in the comments section of this article.

Spawn and Heihachi Going Multi-Platform for SC2HD!

So we already know that Soulcalibur 2 will be coming to PSN and XBL in a few months; but we never knew the state of the guest characters from that series. On the Playstation 2, we had Heihachi, on the Xbox we had Spawn; and both consoles had Necrid. Would the same be for PSN and XBL? Would these characters remain as console exclusives?

Well according to a report from Siliconera, both characters will be available on both versions! This begs the quesiton, how will this affect tournaments? In the past, they were banned because they were console-exclusives; but now that exclusivity is gone. Since both characters are now available to everybody, should be allow them? Necrid too? Sadly, Link from the Gamecube version of the game remains absent from this downloadable release.

With the recent announcement of SCII HD Online, I am sure the majority of new players are concerned that old school players are going to be way ahead and wipe the floor with others. Whether or not this turns out to be true, Aris (WGC SCII Champion) was nice enough to make a guide to Soulcalibur II.

Everyone will have a chance to jump into the game competitively with a guide, thus make the learning process easier also. Aris will also be uploading more SCII videos in the future on his channel AvoidingthePuddle that will have tutorials and gameplay for other characters.

So there has been a furor during these past few days after it was discovered that Namco-Bandai filed a trademark for "Soulcalibur Lost Swords". Until now, we didn't really know what it meant. Companies file trademarks all the time, often just to cover themselves.

Could Lost Swords be an upgrade to Soulcalibur V? An RPG side-story like Soulcalibur Legends? Or perhaps a free-to-play version of Soulcalibur like Tekken Revolution? Well Namco-Bandai just wrapped up their Comic-can panel... and... nothing. No announcement of Soulcalibur Lost Swords. However, Namco-Bandai has announced an HD version of Soulcalibur II will be coming to PSN and XBL this fall.
