so i was playing Sig and noticed u can cancel a normal K. Then i pick up Cassy and found out u can do the same thing. So i was jst wondering. Whats the point of kG? Does anyone use it? And why?
 
You can do it to A and B too as well as a number of unblockables. You usually do it for the visual twitch, a fake out of sorts, but the animation can be a little short on the A/B/K versions to get much affect. Some characters move slightly when you cancel in this fashion, I think notably hilde K G-cancel.

Yeah they're usually used to psyche out your opponent (I am a victim to this a lot...) and make you think they're going to do something when they do something entirely different.

You can cancel all standing A B and K with every character. Some are more visual in their animations so every person runs with whatever cancel they choose. The main purpose of them is to bait someone. For example you GI someone and you think they will GI back you K~G and then you get to see if they whiff or not and act accordingly
 
Seconded. I actually use that cancel quite a bit after landing 1KK a few times. Then, let out a K~G and when they duck for the 1st kick of 1KK, unleash your C3B and that's game.

1KK puts you at disadvantage, so someone with knowledge of frame data and a fast character should be able to beat out most of your options even after 1KK hits.

This is mostly for online where there is some leighway on these types of moves. Plus most ppl out there are scrubtastic.

Don't forget though that Hilde has aGI's off her C2 A and C3 A, which she can bait you into attacking into when she is at minor disadvantage.
 
well yeah suirad, i always knew cancelling asty unblockables are quite beast, jst never the A, B or K's. I guess my guys dont rly have a need for them, but thanks for the info everyone.
 
A_B_K cancels usually don't fake me out, mostly because if I'm trying to GI a quick attack, it's me anticipating a retaliation well ahead of time anyways.
